Happy Place

For a while I was looking for a woman centric love story that was not preachy or unrealistic, and i found this book. From the first chapter, i was so hooked. From friendship that tested time and growing apart, complicated relationship with family, love that seems impossible but still makes you hopeful.And especially, the way Emily expressed Harriet. so elegantly. i have saved so many quotes from this book that hit home so many times.

Emily Henry is one of my favourite authors out there which is why I’m gonna read any book she writes. This is another one of her book that I love and enjoyed. I love that this was in two timelines and how we got to see their friendship and relationship developed. The friendships and the love they have for one another is my favourite part of the book and although the romance felt kind of lacking, I still enjoyed every moment Wynn and Harriet had with each other. I cried and laughed together with the characters and I am filled with so much love and happiness after seeing them overcome their struggles and still manage to be together but also accept themselves the way they are now.

Oftentimes we end up choosing a life that our people desire for us. This book demonstrates the courage a person requires to alter their life’s path and pick one that they hope is right to begin with.

The writing was very deep and thought-provoking as well. I will think about the characters for a while.𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧s : Harriet was very relatable. I don't know how emily henry always writes such relatable characters. Wyn, in his own way, was perfect. The way he kept asking Harriet if she was actually happy. My heart❤️🤌🏻✨️The way narrative unfolds, you start thinking about Sabrina more.𝙁𝙖𝙫 𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙚: The scene where Harriet was asked what she'll miss, and she answers going to sleep. The words that came after that literally changed my perspective.𝙁𝙖𝙫 𝙌𝙪𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨: "The anger of an animal didn't make him angry. It helps you understand them better, he told me. You don't want that anger becoming fear. You want it turning into trust."

The book quality is up to the mark,the coverpage the printing.Pages are little thin but it's manageable.Will review after giving it a shot.

Such a beautiful beautiful beautiful book. I love everything that Emily Henry writes but this book was so deep, so moving, so incredible. It had such a strong foundation and the writing was so generous. I was immediately sucked into the book and I did not want it to end. Such perfection. Very comforting and very very very strong. This book had a core and I love when a seeming beach read turns out to be one with so much meaning.

I now want to experience complex emotions through reading. This was very surface level, like any general American romcom. I would suggest this to people who love to watch and read light, to a younger generation (don’t like saying this) who re yet to explore the complexities of any emotion. Because this book generally deals with the usual indecisiveness of say a 25 year old in understanding the maturity and essence of life. Unfortunately this book didn’t work for me.
