There’s several microphones of this style available. I’ve tested several. They range in the price between $10 and $20. This particular model actually sounded better and it was less expensive than the others. They work very well with the iPhone and better recording software like the one from iRig. The other thing I really like about them is that they seem to be shielded nicely. The Rode Go Wireless system he’s very picky about what mics are used with it because there seems to be and electric interference home from the power supply in it. For example, there are mics from JK that I really like but they fail miserably with this particular wireless system. Rode sells its own very nice microphone that can be used with the system but it is also eight times more expensive than the microphone Bing reviews here. This microphone and an adapter to make it usable with the Go system it’s not only cheaper but also brings a different sound flavor to the game. This can be useful just for the different sound it has or if you need to mic some thing and you might lose the microphone in the process (filming is sometimes crazy). I liked this well enough that I bought three more. at $10 apiece, it’s a no-brainer.

This product works very well. I was able to clip it on to someone during an interview and the sound was very loud and clear. What made this even better was that it was able to pick out my voice from across the person pretty well too. Background noise is also minimal to non-existent. Great product for an amazing price. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because the cord could be longer, it isn't short by any means. But it could be longer. Other than that, amazing product. Comes in a very nice and secure package and also has a pouch. So you're faced with a dilemma, whether to use the secure package or the carrying pouch. We had a family meeting, put it to a vote, the pouch one by narrowest of margins.

I really do like this lavalier microphone, I think it's really great. Now, I don't have any experience with other lavalier microphones, but I did use a 'directional microphone' with my iphone before. For those new to all of this stuff like me, that's basically an actual microphone that plugs directly into the phone, and just sits there, it doesn't have a cord or clip to your shirt or anything. I had absolutely no change in sound quality for that, so it got returned right away. This microphone has a NOTICEABLE change in sound quality. It's much crisper, in my opinion, and louder. The cord is a decent length, not too long and not too short, and the clip is really tight. I struggled to get the clip to open the first time, but I actually really like that, because it means it won't fall off my shirt. The manufacturer recommends wearing a button down shirt with the mic, but I wore a regular long sleeve shirt and didn't have any problems clipping it on, and it didn't fall off. It comes with a faux leather bag to store the mic in, which is really nice. I also tested this with both my iMac(plugs right in to the headphone jack) and with my iPhone 7 using the 3.5 mm to lightning adapter and it worked perfectly. So, don't be afraid to get this just because you have a newer iPhone without a headphone jack :)

The sound quality is good. I used this while driving and compared the sound quality with and without the mic. The quality difference is clear. It cleaned up the background noises and my voice came across really well. On the down side, there is a clicking sound that is very evident. It interupts the audio significantly. Also, it does not pick up all of what is said, so the audio jumps. Lastly, there is an audio lag. So the audio and video doesn't sync up.

I have to say i was extremely dissatisfied with this microphone. The sound quality is so bad on it that I wasn't even sure it was working, I had to download a sound source tester app on my phone to confirm that what I was hearing was audio from this mic and not the phone's internal mic. Thanks to that app, I was able to confirm this actually sounds worse than the mic built into my mid-range android phone from a year a half ago. I used the mic to record several videos and thought I must have been doing something wrong because of how bad the audio was, but no, it's the mic. I tried other mics and got vastly better results. To elaborate on what I mean by bad sound quality... I had the mic clipped on my shirt at an appropriate distance from my face but it sounded almost the same as recording audio on my phone at about five feet away. It would often miss portions of speech particularly at the higher end of the audio spectrum. The audio also sounded like it was electronically compressed, it had that sort of hollow computerized quality that you experience in a low signal cell phone call. So in the end, yes, this is cheap, but just be aware that there's a good chance the mic built into your phone or tablet is significantly better (or at at least no worse) than this one. Would not recommend.

The mic works well

I bought it because it seemed more convenient to carry around a small portable microphone rather than my heavy $70 microphone. There's no risk in losing this one because it's cheap and easy to replace, but man do I love this thing. The sound quality is great in my opinion. I bought a similar one off of Temu and that one is total garbage, it would give off white noise. This one will give you clear sound and you don't need to have it up to your face to catch your voice or anything. I speak pretty softly and it catches my voice loud and clear. I love it. To be honest if I had known about this one at first I probably wouldn't have bothered buying the $70 one. It's just the fact that this microphone is more than enough. Also my phone's mic is terrible.
