can I use 20V MAX Lithium Ion 5 AH battery for this tool? 5 AH is the correct one or no.

Any DeWalt or compatible 20v Li-Ion battery will work. They range from less than 2 Ah all the way up to 6 Ah. They'll all work the same, but the smaller the battery Ah capacity the less time they'll power the tool before recharging.I urge people to consider buying only the bare tool and buying generic DeWalt-compatible batteries. The difference today between the bare tool and the bundle that includes two 5.0 Ah batteries is $150. For $75 or less you can buy two generic DeWalt-compatible (IMPORTANT! all brands are keyed differently and are NOT interchangeable) 5.0 Ah batteries that work just fine. I have purchased 14 DeWalt or compatible 20v Li-Ion batteries thus far. All are working fine, and only two are DeWalt brand. The rest are Enegitech and some other no-name brands. I received one generic that had a problem, and the problem was trivial: the three "fuel gauge" lights would intermittently stay on permanently after the test button was pushed. The vendor immediately offered to refund half my money (I purchased them as a pair), or replace the battery. We decided to take the money and see how much of a problem it was for the lights to stay on. Wouldn't you know it. The problem soon went away! Sticky switch, I guess. But that's the only issue I've had, and we've used these A LOT. For $150, you can either buy these two DeWalt brand batteries or *4* generics. Trust me, if my experience is any indication, you'll be way happier to either spend half as much money for the same thing, or the same amount for twice as many batteries. Note: a 5.0 Ah battery lasts a LONG time. I don't have a grinder, so I don't know how long it'll run, but I have five brushless impact drivers, a hammer drill, a circular saw, a "Sawsall", and a portable shop vac, all DeWalt brand 20v Li-Ion tools. They all run GREAT on the generics. DeWalt doesn't manufacture batteries. They no doubt buy their batteries from the same Chinese factories that produce the generics. The only thing that's different is the cases and the way the slots are keyed so you can't use Black and Decker, Milwaukee, Bosch, etc. batteries interchangeably. The actual Li-Ion cells inside are all the same.

Is this variable speed?

it varies from 0 to 6800rpm in less than a second. ;Dvariable speed  would have been a feature i would appreciated a lot and would have made this tool even more useful. but still i'm  using it a lot.

Question 3

Although the product description says it's ideal for electricians, do you think I could cut concrete if I were to use a 4 1/2 in diamond blade?

I've used this grinder to cut 1/2 in Hardiebacker when doing bathroom remodels. I use a cutoff/wafer wheel which isn't ideal for this use but it works. In my opinion it had adequate power but the fully charged battery lasted roughly 20 mins of almost continuous use (I cut about 4 sheets for a tub surround). So, to answer your question, I know it will cut concrete with a diamond wheel, but if I needed to use it continuously for an extended period of time I'd go with something corded which is the case with most battery powered saws/grinders. How is the paddle switch on this compared to the trigger switch like all the other cordless grinders?

I find it to be far more ergonomic. Very smooth and responsive. You’ll love this grinder! Just be sure to get at least a 5ah battery or more for. 2ah only last like 10 min of continued use.
