Great, classic stories with good morals explained at the end! My granddaughter loves them!

My son and I have been reading these together, he's 6 years old. He's enjoying the stories, although we both prefer to exchange old word use for current, like cock>rooster or ass>donkey among others. It's easy to explain that the stories are very old and that these words used to be used differently than they are now. The illustrations are great. I think the strong nature of consequences in these stories are more likely to stand out in the minds of children as something to pay attention to.

The gift was for my grandson, but I’m familiar with the stories. Great gift for a little kid.

The classic and wonderful fables are here with adequate pictures. I just found the phrasing to often be archaic and not quite suitable for the audience- saying "set upon" instead of "attacked", "despise" instead of "hate". "Those who try to deceive may expect to be paid in their own coin". I would prefer to read these stories to kids and explain the morals, without having to footnote the language.

A ton of stories with great visuals. Some words a bit out of date like "ass" instead of "donkey" - but it's just a style and you get used to it. Stories are short and to the point so you can get a lot of use out of this book.
