Yes, you can really smoke indoors....
I've wanted on of these for a long time and finally decided to go ahead and buy one. Even though this is a smoker and a slow cooker, I have zero interest in the slow cooker option because I already have a slow cooker that I'm happy with. But, as far as a smoker, it's awesome. Not awesome because it does something that other smokers don't do, awesome because I can smoke indoors! I've sucxessfully smoked chicken, pork chops, pork tenderloin, pork belly, steaks, salmon, ribs and macaroni and cheese. I know the big question is whether it smokes up the kitchen while cooking. The first time I used it I found there was some smoke, not enough that I was overly worried but a little more than I liked. However, every use after the first one has resulted in very minimal smoke. The way the lid gasket is designed could be a little if they did two things. 1) Make the gasket a little larger for better sealing and 2) Add a couple of clamps the help the lid seal better. With that said, if you center the lid properly, you won't get very much smoke. In and and around the smoking chamber at the bottom where you put the wood chips can be a little tricky to clean but is far from a deal breaker. I use aluminum foil layered in the bottom to make cleanup a little easier. It has a temperature probe to help you monitor the status. I think mine is a few degrees off but nothing major. Obviously you can't smoke as much food in this smoker as a larger outdoor model but it's still large enough to smoke plenty for the average family or small gathering. Once you start using it, you'll get a feel for how quickly it burns through wood chips and how many to use. I mainly use it to smoke meats and I'm looking for a deep, smoked flavor so I usually fill the smoking chamber all the way up. The meat will be wet while it's smoking but as soon as it's done and it's taken out, it will dry in just a few minutes. I also have a Ninja Woodfire that doesn't get much use due to needing to use it outdoors so if you're on the fence about the Weston and you'll actually use it, just get it, you'll be happy with it.

Great product - does what it needs to, with excellent results
Got this for my retired dad, who missed being able to smoke foods outdoors. It does a great job while generating very little smoke indoors, with a surprisingly little amount of wood chips. It helps to add a little water around the outside seal between the lid and the pot, to ensure the seal is tight until everything warms up. This prevents smoke from leaking out of the tiny gaps between the lid and pot.

Instructions suggest smoking should be done outdoors. Smoking foods has limitations.
I do a lot of smoking of various meat on 2 outdoor smokers that we have outdoors. In the fall, it's a mad rush to smoke meats to be frozen for meals in the winter. This smoker was suggested by a friend of mine for indoor smoking. I don't need a slow cooker, but bought this product to be used for indoor smoking for smaller pieces of protein such as steaks and fish.Generally, the first thing I do when receiving a new appliance is to read the instruction manual. Although most appliance are easy to use without instructions, the instructions sometimes give clues to use of the appliance. In the case of this smoker, although advertised as an indoor smoker, the instructions suggest using it outdoors for smoking. This would suggest that smoke does escape into the house that can discolor ceilings and walls over time, and could be a health hazard for anyone that has parrots as I do.Although this unit looks to have a good build quality, good indoor size, and looks nice on the counter, I question the amount of smoke flavor that it can provide for larger proteins such as a whole chicken or a roast. It has a small container at the bottom of the smoker for wood chips that surround a heating coil that heats the chips to provide smoke. For my outdoor smokers, I can add wood chips to produce more smoke for long cooks. It would be very difficult to add wood chips to this unit since the container for the chips is under the food.I don't doubt that the heat level of this smoker is sufficient to cook and smoke anything cooked in it and that cook times are comparable to other smokers although the size of foods cooked may be limited. As for cleaning, smoke residue is not very difficult to clean, but the manual offers suggestions to make cleaning easier.Since I don't need a slow cooker, quantity an size of food for smoking is limited, and this cooker is not suggested for indoor use in the manual, I decided to return it. The overall reviews for this smoker/slow cooker are good, so this may work for your needs, but you may have to find a way to deal with released smoke and it may not provide the level of smoking you desire.I hope this review was helpful for you.

Indoor smoker that wont break the bank but will make great smoked food.
So I haven't written a review in a while, but this product was something I was on the fence about and I was so pleased with it I figured it was worth a review. A couple thoughts:-Is this as good as a 500$ indoor smoker? I honestly have no idea, i wouldn't spend 500$ on an indoor or outdoor smoker which is why i got this one. But is this an awesome 120$ smoker? absolutely yes-Use this under or over your stove hood and turn on the hood fan! otherwise you will low key smoke your whole house, if you really like hickory smell, sure that's great, otherwise the seals on this work fairly well, but smoke does escape but if you put this around a hood fan you'll be fine.-Minor complaint, the temp and timing functions are very basic, with a probe you cook to a temp, without a probe you cook to a time, its a bit confusing and the panel isn't intuitive, but once you kinda figure it out, you'll be ok.-It smokes really well! We've done salmon, cheese, poultry, and pork, all of its smokes great. we get the pellet sampler packs and have had great success-Its not super easy to clean since the heater element is just in the bottom. so make sure you put some foil in the bottom to catch drippings.-Again the seal on the lid isn't perfect, this isn't a fancy smoker that has some sort of air circulation system, the smoke will escape so see point 2 again.Overall really happy with this purchase. Was on the fence about it, but if you are also on the fence this is a really budget friendly way to get into smoking without going outside.

Update: WESTON BRANDS 2-in-1 Indoor Electric Smoker & Programmable Slow Cooker, 6 Quart
Update 5/30/26: This product has worked exceptionally well! Have used it for over 2 years now. My smoked foods are coming out better then other smoking methods used in the past. Easy to use, easy to clean and does cause the house to be smoky or intolerable. I don't need to utilize a lot of wood chips to get the high quality smoky flavor my family has come to love and enjoy! The product has been very durable with no issues to report. The product is very convenient and allows for making scrumptious meals quickly. I have found this product to be an surprising excellent boon to my cookware tools! It's important to clean after every use and don't get the outside of the unit wet. It's ok to put water on the inside of the unit while allowing it to soak but remember, some of the smoke color may be retained on the inside but it's no big deal to panic over. Great Unit! I would recommend this product to all! If, you're considering purchasing a reliable durable inside the home smoker please don't hesitate to consider purchasing this device.Original Review: The WESTON BRANDS 2-in-1 Indoor Electric Smoker & Programmable Slow Cooker, 6 Quart works really well. I haven't had any issues with the product both aspects are functioning very good. Cleans up easily. At this point, I'm glad I made the purchase.

Yup, it gives food a smokey flavor...
My first impression is that it definitely works. As others have described, the controls are pretty complicated. It really could benefit from some additional buttons or a better UI. Other than that, I added an elastic strap to hold down the lid a bit better. I live in a 6 unit apartment and my stove vent inexplicably vents into a back stairwell where smoke alarms are located. I'm constantly setting them off when I'm searing roasts or frying stuff. My neighbors "love" me! LOL Without a little weight or a strap on the lid, the smoke does escape and I really want to be able to use it in my kitchen. My first test was to smoke fresh ground turkey patties on hot. They came out a bit too smokey but that's probably more related to the quantity/type of wood chips and needing to play with the settings. Overall, I'm very happy with it and am looking forward to using it often in my Chicago apartment year round.UPDATE after 3rd use: No regrets because I mostly needed a slow cooker but the smoking will definitely take practice and an understanding of the capabilities and limitations. Does it smoke stuff? Yes. Will it behave like a pellet grill/smoker? Absolutely not. You're going to need to accept these limitations and adjust accordingly. Use it to add a great smoke flavor to meats but you'll need to incorporate a cast iron grill pan or a broiler to get your meats to not have a steamed/boiled texture.

Great dual purpose smoker/slow cooker.
Hope this is a helpful review. Used it 2 times for smoking now with no issues.Pros: it works, and is mostly easy to cleanup. The temperature probe works great. And the pot is big enough for what we need.Cons:This thing does leak smoke, it even says it in the instruction booklet. It doesn't leak an absurd amount but it does leak.I wish the wood tray was easier to clean, you pretty much to turn it upside down to get the ashes out.The wire racks could be just hair taller. When placed in the pot, the bottom rack touches the smoker element lid and causes a little disbalance.Overall it has a lot of value for its price, but could have some improvements.

This was awesome, until it started flipping circuit breakers.
I bought this for the smoker setting. I was able to use it a total of four times and achieved some outstanding smoked trout using the combo smoke setting. It was efficient, easy to use, and not too bad to clean. Best of all I could use it indoors under the stove vent. I honestly thought I might have found an alternative to my Big Chief smoker for smaller batches of fish.A little ways into my fourth batch of trout, I noticed that the smoker had cut off. I tried turning it back on but had no luck. I then noticed that some nearby appliances were not working. It then dawned on me that the circuit breaker must have flipped. I ended up moving the smoker to another outlet where there was nothing plugged in on the breaker. It came on briefly and I set it up to smoke and walked away again. Came back a few minutes later to find it off and another breaker flipped. I moved my trout to the oven at that point. As much as I liked this thing, I am afraid it might be a hazard. I am scared to use it further and will luckily be able to return it as I am still in the return window. I hope that I just got a lemon and that other ones work great out there. However, I would strongly advise folks to be careful with this.

A Must-Have for Any Grilling Enthusiast โ The Versatile Smoker Pot
I bought this smoker pot for my husband, and itโs become one of his favorite kitchen tools! The versatility of this smoker is incredible โ you can slow cook meals, smoke meats, fish, and even veggies with ease. The option to use trays for different types of cooking makes it even more practical. My husband was so excited when we first got it that he used a bit too much wood chips, and the flavor of the food ended up being very bold with the wood chip taste! But thatโs a testament to how powerful the smoker is. It's perfect for anyone who enjoys experimenting with different cooking techniques, whether for a family meal or a special occasion. It's a fantastic gift for Fatherโs Day, birthdays, or Christmas โ highly recommended!

Surprised
I wasn't too sure how good this would work, I was skeptical. It works very well. It takes up as much space as a slow cooker. It works great for smaller cuts or small amounts of food or making smoked salt, cheese etc. I haven't used the slow cooker function, and to be honest I probably won't, I only use it as a smoker. I have recommended this to people with no outdoor space, it's worth it

User
Indoor smoker! Very impressed
Love this little indoor smoker. Plug it in under your stove vent fan, and turn on the fan to help vent the small bit of smoke that escapes from the lid. Used apple wood chips and used the combo setting (cold and then hot smoke). Delicious! Very happy.
