Worth the money...
I purchased my first Sharp Carousel II 32 years ago. The machine was indeed a work horse. It continued to work as expected but the display grew more and more light/faded until I had a hard time reading it. It displayed the time fine but the other options did not display well any longer. With built-in obsolesce which is the case of so many of our modern appliances, the Carousel is built to last. I am hoping my new Carousel will last as long although given my age, I do not expect to be cooking in 30 years because I will probably be dead. At any rate, I needed a new stove and could not use the oven 2 years ago when Covid disrupted the supply lines.. The Carousel saved me. It took 9 months for the stove to arrive and in that time, I do not know what I would have done without the Carousel for baking, roasting, microwaving, etc. The new machine is almost identical to my first Carousel. However, I notice there is no meat probe with this model. The tray is also a wee bit smaller as well. I noticed the two metal cooking inserts for baking, etc. from my old Carousel did not fit in the model I just purchased without bending the legs inward to they would fit given the current rotating tray. None of this is a deal breaker by any means. I do like the stainless steel look of the new machine. It arrived with a slight dent in the upper corner of one side but the dent was not large enough to cause me to return it. (I can't lift it any way given my age so returning it was out of the question once unpacked.) While expensive, it is very handy and a worthwhile addition to any kitchen.

Came defective, but fixed. 2d (@2mths) issue with door fixed. 3d (@6mth) unit sparked.
When unit arrived it was defective. Upon plugging in ithe light came on and it ran in convection mode without any buttons being pressed. Contact with vendor (not Amazon) took some time. Also contacted Sharp. Sharp had local technician contact us and after getting part repaired unit at no cost. edit: Several months later had an issue with the door mot clsoing properly. Again contacted Sharp and techinican came out and adjusted door. Noted on their form that they had wrong sales date, April 2024 not August 2024. edir 2: Another problem, unit was sparking and starting to burn at inside top. Took it out of service again. This is the third Sharp microwave we have had, all had problems . This one has had 3 problems and is unsafe to use.

Sharp: A very reliable and long-lasting product
After 17 years and 3 months, my former microwave/convection oven (MCO) died two days before Thanksgiving. With that length of incredible trouble-free service, I sought to replace the unit with another Sharp M/C/O. I performed my due diligence research on models, prices, and vendors, and found the best deal for the same model, different model number, with Amazon. The ordering process was simple. The MCO was to arrive the following Tuesday. Happily, it arrived one day early. I find this model to be comparable in all important respects: overall and cavity size, heating capability, and convection performance. The ceramic turntable is a great upgrade from the speckled metal turntable in the previous MCO. The lighting is excellent. Most of the number/instruction pads are holdovers from the prior model, making reeducation a breeze. As I live in the desert, I use the convection oven component a lot during our summer months, when it's 'way too hot to use the conventional oven. During other months, I enjoy the ease, simplicity, and speed provided by this Sharp product. I hope that I receive the same long lifespan from this model as I did from its predecessor. Thank you, Sharp, for continuing to produce high-quality products.

Versatile and dependable oven
This is the third Sharp Convection Microwave I’ve bought. The first was great for about 10 years; then the convection part stopped working. I used it as a microwave only for about 5 more years before giving it away. The second was purchased about 10 years ago for a second home, and still works perfectly. The third was purchased two months ago, when my 18 year old stove died and I was in the process of figuring out what I wanted as a replacement. The Sharp works perfectly as a microwave, and the convection oven is wonderful for cooking small dinners, baking pies or single loaves of bread, or keeping an already-prepared dish warm before serving. I have roasted beef and pork tenderloins in it, as well as small chickens. To me, it’s an indispensable appliance.

Works Great
This is the second Sharp convection/microwave oven we have owned. The one replaced was over 20 years old. My son left the door open and my husband ran into it and broke it. We fixed the door but after years of use the door started to sag again from the when it was broken. I decided rather than fix it again I would buy a new one. I love everything about it.
