SBUHD Universal-Fit Air Conditioner Compressor Sound Blanket Wrap (#0421A)

Just installed in 30 minutes. For me, the effective indicator was that if the fan became louder than the compressor, I would be happy. It did the job. I didn’t read too much into this blanket before buying, but was happy to see it’s made in Canada when it arrived. There is a lot of mass with this blanket, which is the critical aspect of damping sound and vibration. It’s very well made and I’m very happy with this purchase.

Amazing product, I have a 20+ year old Carrier and it was very quick to install. I would suggest Installing the top half then the bottom half. It wont make your old AC completely quiet but it will definitely make a noticeable difference in the high pitch noise definitely recommended

The cover shipped quickly and arrived with all necessary pieces included. While it is marketed as a universal fit, installation was a bit tricky on our older A/C unit due to the original wiring configuration. However, with a little maneuvering, we were able to get it securely in place.As for performance, it definitely muffles the compressor sound while the unit is running. While it didn't quiet things down quite as much as we had hoped, it still makes a noticeable difference and is absolutely worth the purchase!

Going by the app on my phone this product drops the AC noise by 3/5 dB. I'll give it 3 stars because I wanted more sound deadening but definitely helps some. Will update if something catches on fire, hasn't yet.

Works very well. Went from having to close doors in my house to not hear the compressor, to barely being able to hear it with the doors open. Wish I had taken decibel readings before I installed it, but the noise reduction is significant. It's not silent and the method ofinstallation does matter. I think people aren't sealing the covering up as much as they should. The velcro straps are there to hold it together while you wrap duct tape all around it and seal every gap. Gaps let the sound ride the air out, so don't be stingy on the tape. Very happy I finally (FINALLY) got around to doing this. Took about an hour to install because I also cleaned the coils while everything was opened up.

I ordered two of these (over $200 total) as I have a 2 flat and the NEW Carrier/Weathermaker ac units sit right next to the patio. I measured the decibles before and after. They were the SAME (80-84 dc). NO CHANGE. I was shocked and very disappointed. NOTE!!! Turns out compressor noise is only a problem on OLDER models. On NEWER models the noise comes mostly from the FAN. The seller really should inform buyers of that fact. And this explains the radical reviews. If you have an older unit, the blanket is a quality item. But it was a waste of money for me . And once adjusted with tape etc, you really cannot return. Ugh!

I have a Bryant A/C that was installed in 1988.It was so loud that it was difficult to talk on our patio and very annoying even in our screened in porch with windows. But an hour of work, a good bit of Gorilla tape, and some cable ties made a HUGE difference in the sound level. I just followed the directions, but also put cable ties together to go all the way around the compressor blankets at three different levels to reinforced the tape so it is all secure and should stay together. An HVAC dealer said he could do it for about $750! Glad I have it a try and very happy with the results👍!

Brand new 4T Trane 454B system and the compressor sounded so stinking loud. Trane says 72-81dB is ok (seriously WTF Trane). Purchased this, install was easy & now I literally cannot hear my AC compressor running anymore while I am in the house. I 100% recommend this and would recommend this to anyone that doesn’t like excessive and needless AC compressor noise.
