Product Description Lewis delivers his rapid-fire observations on favorite topics such as politics, pop culture and the general state of the world today. His satirical, comedic commentary on the perils of everyday life can be seen every Wednesday night on " the Daily Show with John Stewart." Actors: Lewis Black Year: 2003 Original Language: English. desertcart.com Comedy Central's jittery, apoplectic commentator on all things absurd in politics and culture is superb on this disc's collection of four half-hour cable specials and bonus features. Fans and newcomers get a chance to see how much the comic has grown since his delightful 1998 show, in which Black characteristically sputtered this bit of social-scientific criticism: "It's absolutely stupid that we've lost the ozone layer. We've got men, rockets, Saran Wrap--fix it!" Black attacks Bill Clinton for obscuring the meaning of infidelity ("If curling is an Olympic sport, oral sex is adultery!"), Y2K hype, flu shots, America's power elite, Ross Perot ("He's the kid in Deliverance all growed-up!"), and even delivers a "Taxes 101" college lecture ("What would help IRS forms? Verbs!"). Bonus features include Black's "Indecision 2000" inserts--caustic commentary about the last Republican and Democrat conventions--for Jon Stewart's show. Highly entertaining stuff. --Tom Keogh Review: Funny compilation of old shows. - Funny compilation of old shows. Will watch again and again. Review: Lewis Black in all his glory - I've seen reviews that have been so-so for this outstanding comic, considering that the DVD is edited, but it doesn't take away the glory of Lewis Black. This dvd is awesome! I laughed the whole way through and will continue to watch it forwards and backwards. Granted, the non-edited versions of his routines are the best, but thats why everyone should go out and buy his cd versions! I give this dvd 5 stars: its everything I wanted to be. All the Lewis I didn't get on tape, and much more! Two thumbs up, Lew. You're still the man!

Lewis Black is not for every one but
A friend introduced me to Lewis Black's humor via facebook via you tube. I don't always agree with what he is trashing but I love his trashing. He doesn't just drop the F bomb....personally I think he invented it but it is necessary to his brand of humor. Politics is his target and politicians should duck on both sides of the aisle. My cheeks.....the ones on my face are always sore from laughing at this DVD. His others are just as funny and I have them all now.

CC Specials minus the commercials! :-)
This is pretty much essential Lewis material from the late 90s and early 00s: Weathermen, Candy Corn, IHOP, Starbucks, MTV at the SuperBowl, and Bill Clinton's "winky." Granted, the specials are 20-22 minutes a piece, but Lewis adds a line or a nuance or two that's not on the HBO specials or his albums. Taxed Beyond Belief is a bit of a bore, much like any taped segment on The Daily Show these days. We get it: taxes suck. (And you can spot the teleprompter hidden in the classroom) Plus, the finger pointing is contagious, lol. These days, he's calmed down a bit, but still gets angry at what bugs him most: politicians and Snooki. If you get the chance to see him live, do it. You won't regret it.

Lewis Black, Unleashed
Lewis Black is one of Americas funniest comedians, and his views on politics, and life in general make his form of comedy one of the best types seen today. I enjoyed all of the material, it was fresh, and it hits home, and that's what makes it funny. The funniest things are things that are true, you can't make those types of things up. Lewis Black Unleashed is money well spent. now if Lewis would only come out to the West Coast more I would enjoy seeing him live.

Political Commentary at Its Best
This is the first time I have gone to the trouble to review a product from Amazon and I have bought a lot of material here. Lewis Black expresses all the bipartisan frustration I feel over today's politics and gives me a chance to laugh about it. I don't care what side of this endless game our government plays that you cheer for (or bash), Black will have you nodding your head in agreement. I can't believe I only discovered this talented man a few months ago. I recommend anything he puts out. Be prepared for adult language.

Laugh Out Load
As a South African citizen we see very little of American standup comedy. Until Lewis Balck was aired that is. It was not that Americanese that you could not thouroughly enjoy the content and topics. I find Lewis Black a scream and though the show is close (if not just over) two hours, never got bored. The topics, though a bit older now, are still valid and still applies to today's situations and the like. Highly recommended in terms of content coverage, humour and monies paid. Get it now!

Lewis Black is one of America's greatest comics ever. This is a collection of shows he did for Comedy Central, and they are great. Lewis' style is to angrily rant about anything from Bush to the Super Bowl, and his opinions are hilarious. You can't help but like anything and everything he does. This is a brilliant DVD.
