Does it work for 2020 x3m comp f97?

It will "work" with any car with a standard OBD port. That said, I was to use it with Bimmerlink. It.would connect.to my smart.phone, but at about 2 minutes or so it would disconnect and I had to manually restore it. Also if left in the OBD port and the car locked, it.would.set off the car alarm in 45.seconds or so. I got another dongle that ran on Bluetooth rather than wifi and issues went away. I don't know if problem was because of the app or the wifi dongle. My car is 2019 540i.

Does it check your check engine lights?

Yes, with the proper app like bimmerlink.

Can the ssid be changed? I want to use multiple in a shop but don't want 7 of the same network names

Yes you can change it, here’s how: Go to 192.168.16.254 and enter 'admin' as the username and 'EnetWif131519' as the password. That will let you change the SSID and network key. The network key NEEDS to be 8 digits. After that's changed, you'll have to reconnect to the SSID you just changed it to.

Does this device auto shut off? Can it be left plugged in without draining the battery?

It does not auto shut off. It needs to be unplugged when not in use.

Does not fit in OBD port!

Does not fit in standard OBD port of BMW G series. So completely useless! Have another BT adapter, that has different physical form (Small difference, but enough to not fit a modern BMW). Show also different than on the pictures (there it looks ok).

Compacto, Conexion rapida y excelente calidad. La comunicacion WIFI o Ethernet es de primera.

Lo utilizo con los programas bimmerlink o bimmercode para modificar y revisar lecturas de fallas en vehiculos. El conectarlo al puerto OBD2 es muy facil, el acceso es perfecto. El conectar el telefono o tablet al wifi del dispositivo es muy sencillo, tan facil como conectarte a tu red wifi normal. Tambien el conectarlo por cable ethernet es super rapido, pues solo es de conectar el cable de red. He podido realizar modificaciones de bimmercode y realizar diagnosticos con bimmerlink de manera correcta cada vez. La conexion por wifi no se cae y es muy rapida la codificacion.

Grundsätzlich gut, jedoch nicht mit xHP kompatibel (bis Ende lesen)

Mit diesem Adapter konnte ich BM3 sowie MHD und BimmerCode problemlos flashen/codieren. Die Flashzeit bei BM3 und MHD waren sogar fast identisch mit den originalen BM3 sowie MHD Adaptern. Leider geht der Adapter zurück, da er nicht mit xHP kompatibel ist, was auch in der App beim pre-check den Flashvorgang verweigert. Dies ist jedoch allein mein Verschulden, da bei xHP dokumentiert ist, dass man einen DCAN WiFi Adapter ab der 3. Generation 8HP Getriebe (BMW G-Serie) benötigt.
