Still going after 3 years!
I’ve had this vacuum sealer for over three years and use it quite often. It’s easy to use, lightweight, and takes up very little storage space. Most importantly, it still works perfectly! I’m very happy with this vacuum sealer. If it ever stops working, I wouldn’t hesitate to replace it with the same model.

Best Food Saver for the Money
I got this vacuum sealer for Prime Day. Initially, I wanted a dehydrator and electric canner, but saw this in my recommended and I figured I'd give it a go for the price. Honestly, I wasn't expecting too much considering it was a lot cheaper than other brands. When it arrived, I booted it up and sealed my zucchini harvest. To my surprise, it suctioned very nicely and managed it all like a pro. I then took our frozen apricots, which I had previously had in just Ziploc bags, and sealed them with this machine. They were already frozen, but this did a fantastic job sealing them in an air tight way. So then, I wondered how it would do with meats. So I took a bunch of chicken thighs that I bulk purchased, separated them into the vacuum sealer bags and dang! It did such a good job! And so quickly too! I was able to process so many bags so quick; it took no time at all. It didn't give me a single issue while sealing either. I just followed the instructions and pressed the buttons I needed to, depending on what I was sealing. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this little vacuum sealer. I didn't think it was going to be such a powerhouse for what I paid for it, but it turned out to be a gem! I'm continuing to use it, and it continues to do a great job every time. Honestly, I use this sealer more than the dehydrator and electric canner I initially bought. The only thing I'd say, is that it only comes with enough bags to really test it out. It's definitely worth getting additional bags to seal stuff in. I ordered a big pack of them and am still working my way through it. Overall, this thing is a powerhouse and works quickly and efficiently. If you're on a budget and have been wanting one, get this!

Decent sealing
First, the heating rod is about 12" long, so it can seal an opening close to 12". The seal line is about 0.3" in height/width across the bag. In my video, I used the Vac mode where air was sucked out. The mode requires User to continue to press on the button until desire tightness. This is necessary for sealing potatoes chip bag etc. The Seal mode is pretty self-explanatory. Press the button and the machine do the rest of the job. According to the manual/Yellow page, this vacuum sealer works best with certain brand of vacuum sealer bags. However, I ordered this for daily closure of snack items too. Anyway, I tested the machine with a few types of plastic bags: 1. Cellophane bag - seal well. Did not try the Vac mode. 2. Lays Potatoe Clip bag - didn't vac too good but seal well. 3. Grocery bag the one that use in Veg dept - seal well. Did not try the Vac mode. 4. My video snack bag which is thicker than potato clip bag - Vac well but sealing is a hit and miss. The first time I tried, there was a hole (not seal) portion in the middle. A clip falls out. Was able to pull my pinky in and open up the sealed bag. Using the same bag, 2nd time was a charm (as shown in the video). The snack bag vacuumed out and the seal was done perfectly. For the price I paid (less than $20), this is considered as a value for money vacuum sealer.

Better
I previously purchased a similar product on another platform, but this one is better and less expensive.

Works FLAWLESSLY and was half the price
I was hesitant to choose this one because it costs a lot less than all the other similar /comparable sealers. However, I am very glad that I did choose it. It works 100% as it should. It has easy to follow simplistic instructions such as exactly what area to place the bag opening, etc. It came with a number of “premade” bags not that many but that was fine because I like choosing the size of my bags with the included roll of bag material (can’t think of a better word for it?) for those not familiar with the process: - its like a roll of one long bag and you cut however size you want from the roll and what you’ll do is create the bottom seal of your bag-to-be by placing one end in the specified slot, and press the “seal” button - it will heat seal that end closed . You will then place your mushrooms or other item(s) of choice in the bag, & then place the open /top of the bag in the slot and press the “vacuum” button if you feel it needs more than the automatic amount of vacuuming before it seals it off, and immediately press the “vacuum seal” (or something similar to that wording) button for it to vacuum heat seal . Or you can skip the “extra” vacuuming button - I like to use it though because there’s been occasions with my other sealer where It didn’t quite seem to get all the air out before it started sealing it off with the heat. So I like that there is a function that is strictly vacuum, nothing else (although you’ll need to use to vacuum seal button right afterwards obviously) I am genuinely impressed with the function, quality, and price point of this vacuum sealer and am confident to recommend it to anyone shopping for one.

Brand new out of the box - didn't work at all!
Well - this is the email I sent to the support at b o n s e n kitchen and I still haven't received a response. This was almost 2 weeks ago. I just couldn't believe that straight out of the box it wasn't working. To Whom It May concern. I am a local chef and I purchased two of your model VS 2100 vacuum sealers about 3 years ago. I don't vacuum seal often, only for special items so the one vacuum sealer that I opened I have used less than 50 times and it stopped working and I did the troubleshooting from my research on the internet and from the instruction manual included, when it wasn't working, I decided to open up the other same model of the s2100 that I had and straight out of the box it's not working. I know it has been a couple of years but I was wondering if I can get a replacement or some sort of refund because I can send the unit back or both of them and as you can see one is very well maintained and cleaned and the other one is straight out of the box, brand new only attempted to use once and not working, hence this email. Please feel free to send me a text at xxx-xxx-xxxx which is preferable or respond to this email. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and if you happen to need any pictures of the model itself or the Box for the SKU code, please let me know.

Gets the air out to freeze
I'm liking this. I'd thought about it over time and finally got it. It's been used often. I find it's not a big deal to pull it out and use it for 1 or 2 "seals". I haven't had a problem getting it to seal. I did realize fast that if I'm going to freeze something sort of "wet" to freeze it first so that it will vac easier. Also, to leave 3 or so inches at the top so that I can use the bag again and have enough space to seal a second time. That's been great to cut down on the cost of the film. Also when you use the rolls of film you can seal the 3rd edge fairly close to the edge, just put it in far enough to hit the heat bar it doesn't have to go all the way in to vac seal.

There is no instruction guide for what types of foods you can seal, so I had to experiment. The machine comes with a few 8"x10" bags but I also purchased 8"x20" bags and two, 8" x 20 foot rolls that can be customized. All bags are flat. There is no room for larger meats such as a roast or meatloaf, etc. The photo shows my first attempt to vacuum seal some rolls for freezing. The roll on the left is the fresh one. The one in the middle contains 2 rolls and was sealed using the "dry" button. The one on the right has 2 rolls and was sealed with the "moist" option. They may end up as Thanksgiving stuffing because I don't believe they'll spring back to life. Then I moved on to meat. In one of the bags I made from the customizable roll of bags, I added large strips of beef with marinade. I selected "moist" and it sucked up the marinade to the seal edge and wouldn't seal since the edge was now wet. Palm to head, I should have figured that out on my own but, too late. I dried off the edge, pressed out the air by hand, carefully lined up the dry edge with the sealer strip and just sealed it. You have to be sure that edge is perfectly even and perfectly flat or it won't seal completely. Hence the Diva. Next I tried a small roast with a few tablespoons of marinade and pressed the air out by hand and sealed. Could have done that with a zip-lock bag with far less effort but I was trying to buy in bulk, stock up and save money with this vacuum seal dream. I used the moist seal for 1 pound bags of ground beef but the beef had to be smashed until it was flat in the bag and it still didn't completely "vacuum" the air out and I could move the beef around after it was sealed. You have to "insert" the edge of the bag into a little gully just above the heat sealer strip. That gully doesn't hold-on to your bag, so you have to be sure it doesn't move and it stays flat. There was an extra piece of black foam in the box but there are no instructions that tell you if you need that for anything. I thought maybe you put that foam strip on top of the bag edge in the gully to hold it in place while you seal, but no, it doesn't fit - so what is it for? Do I need it - who knows. You also have to leave 3 inches of space between the item in the bag and the sealed edge. Not much room for anything. This machine also came with a vacuum tube and some little attachments. The instructions do say that this catheter tube is for sucking the air out of a small container, which can be purchased separately. No thanks. The box the machine was packed in does have a warning label that warns not to purchase any bags that are not Bonsenkitchen or they won't seal. Had I known this is a limited, fussy little machine I would have purchased a larger vacuum sealer that could seal larger, thicker bags. I'll use this when I run out of zip-locks bags. I'm sure it will be good for things like nuts or flatter, drier items. Disappointed.
