I've been using the Pinless Moisture Meter for various DIY projects, and it's proven to be an incredibly reliable tool. It has been particularly useful in checking the moisture content of walls and lumber before starting any renovations or building projects. This has helped me avoid potential issues with water damage or mold. What I really like is the non-invasive nature of this meter. It gives accurate readings without damaging the surface, which is great when dealing with finished wood or painted walls. The digital display is clear and easy to read, making it straightforward to use even for someone who isn't particularly tech-savvy. One thing to note is that the readings can vary slightly if you don't hold it flat against the surface, so it takes a bit of practice to get consistent results. However, once you get the hang of it, it becomes a quick and reliable way to check for moisture. This moisture meter has become an essential part of my toolkit. It’s definitely worth the investment for any DIYer or homeowner looking to prevent water damage and ensure the longevity of their projects.

This works real easy turn it on stick it in the wood and it shows you the moisture. How easy can it be.

The meter seems to do what it's supposed to do and the reviews bear that out. It appears to be fairly accurate, it's easy to use. It's not going to provide the same results as a $600 meter but I don't need that; I only need to know whether and how fast my wood is drying and the dryness compared to other wood in my shop that I know is stable and dry. My deduction of a star is based on the fact that the meter is difficult to read in bright sunlight where some of my wood is stored. The box suggests that the screen can be lit but am unable to find a switch do so. A lit screen would be preferable to the flashlight of which I have no use. My other criticism is the instructions are in gray 2 point type and the buttons printed on the page are blackened out an impossible to read. It wouldn't cost much in paper or ink to make instructions legible. When buying this meter, a magnifying glass would be another good purchase if you don't have one. In short, it works, it's basic, but under some circumstances both the screen and instructions are hard to read.

So far it seems to work well. I tried it on wood that was cut last year and wood that was just cut. The moisture level in each is consistent to what it should be. I don't know if it's 100% accurate but certainly in the ballpark.

This is a great detector for moisture! We thought our leak was coming from the shower and found it was actually the toilet. This inexpensive device just saved me thousands from not ripping my shower apart! BUY IT!!!

I used this to find wet spots in the ceiling when the roof was leaking. You have to be a little careful because sometimes it thinks metal in the wall is water (like a stud nail, or the metal bullnose on a corner). Still, it's usually obvious when that happens, and you can move the meter to check. This gave me piece of mind during a few rainstorms. I would recommend it if you're worried.

I originally bought this to measure moisture levels in my Cali Bamboo Mocha Eucalyptus 9/16" solid flooring — and it worked perfectly for that. I’ve also used it to check plywood moisture on an exterior wall from the inside, and to locate a hidden damp spot behind drywall (see attached photos). I liked it so much I bought a second one as a gift for a friend a few months later. The green backlit display is clear and easy to read. A great and inexpensive little tool that gets the job done!

A really good meter for finding damp . No need of contact just holding it over the part to measure. Easy to setup for different materials. Easy to use.

Great tool! It’s easy to use and the display is easy to read. accurate readings. Doesn’t leave pin holes in wood to test moisture. Would recommend
