Greetings to all spiritually inclined readers. I read the majority of reviews for JL Local smudging sticks, and I was initially concerned by the number of negative comments. However, every single negative review repeated the same complaint: “They don’t stay lit.” Based on how reviewers described using them, it was immediately clear why. Sage smudging sticks are not supposed to stay lit on their own. I have never encountered a quality sage bundle that does. Smudging requires blowing on the embers to produce smoke—this is standard practice. If you light it and simply set it down, of course it will go out. I smudged my entire home with one of these sticks, and it burned exactly as it should. You have to blow on it. When used properly, it produces a beautiful, steady smoke. The aroma is splendid—clean, grounding, and it lingers pleasantly without being overpowering. Ironically, it was the last negative review that convinced me to purchase these, because it was obvious the issue wasn’t the product, but user error. These smudging sticks are well made, effective, and absolutely worth the price. Excellent purchase—I will definitely be buying more.

I will most definitely be buying this item again. I cant say enough about how much I appreciate the effort, time, and creativity put into this product. Not only speaking of the sage itself but the presentation on and within the packaging. I appreciate the instructions and the blessing message within the pamphlet. This gives a truly authentic experience of burning sage. It made me feel like I have this for a more meaningful purpose than for the aroma. The sage is perfect and its a reasonable size as well. The aroma is soothing and the leaves are a perfect texture for easy burning. This is a great gift due to the presentation and the amount of sage within the package. As I mentioned, I will be purchasing this again and I recommend this to anyone who is an avid sage burner and for those who are just starting off. Thank you JL Local! The scent of the 4 in sage stick is pleasant and even if they are small- it has a long lasting scent and strong. They were not difficult to light and burned well. We had a positive experience with cleansing with these sage sticks. The cleansing power was great, left us feeling light and good. I would recommend purchase. ( It was a pack if 3)

That said, once I got them going, they worked just fine for the cleansing ritual I had in mind. Pros: Fragrant and high-quality sage with no artificial scent. Compact 4-inch size is great for small spaces or travel altars. Includes instructions and blessings—nice spiritual touch. Cons: Very tightly bound, making the initial lighting a challenge. Burn rate can be uneven unless you loosen the tip slightly before lighting. Pro Tip: Try unwrapping or fluffing the outer leaves just a bit to improve airflow and help it catch more easily. Using a long-reach lighter also helps get a solid start without singed fingers. Final Verdict: Not the easiest to light, but it did the job with patience—and added meaningful ambiance to the moment. I am a big believer in saging ones home on a regular basis to dispell negative energy! We invite others into our homes or have family living with us, so just like germs that can cause us to become ill, negative energies can come home with anyone who walks in the door, including ourselves! That's why it's always good to have sage on hand, to do a weekly or monthly smudging of your house. I usually buy sage sticks from a local spiritual store but unfortunately another one of these local stores that are few and far between has shut down, so I decided to try getting some on Amazon once again. I had tried last year to purchase some on here, it was a mix of sage and cedar and it was absolutely horrible! I read many comments on this sellers reviews and decided to try their sage. I am extremely impressed by their product! The sticks are a very manageable size and the smell of the burning sage is definitely the true smell of what white sage smells like when it is burning! I love the smell! Several people mentioned in their reviews that they couldn't keep these smudge sticks lit, that they'd go out after just a couple of minutes! I LOLed at those comments because that's exactly what a smudge stick is supposed to do! If you let the whole stick burn at one time, you'd suffer from smoke inhalation! LOL One smudge stick this size should last you several months and that's with using it on a weekly basis! You burn sage sparingly, the smoke goes where it needs to go and can also be directed with a long bird feather or even your hand! If you need it to stay lit awhile longer to complete your saging in a larger area, blow on it mildly to keep it from going out until you have smudged the whole space you need to do! A little goes a long way! Remember, your intentions add to the sages clearing abilities! These sage sticks stay lit just the perfect amount of time, they are bundled together in just the right thickness not to go up in flames right when you light them but to smolder and smoke for the few minutes a sage stick is supposed to stay lit! Can't say enough good things about this sage! Great price and great smudge sticks! Will be back to order more!

I order sage from this seller regularly because it's affordable but high quality. Looks, burns, and smells good. Not much else to say. I'm happy with it.

Smell comfort

Too many sticks in the middle. Does not burn properly and my house smells like burnt cigarettes after only attempting to burn for a few minutes. This is a subpar product and I do NOT recommend purchasing unless this company upgrades their quality control. I have the worst headache and so does my spouse. This is not a normal reaction for either of us.
