I bought these spikes in July 2023 to install on my balcony rail. Birds liked to perch on the rail and do their business, which landed on the cool deck below by the pool. Since installing the spikes, they have been close to 100 percent effective. I secured them to the rail with black zip ties, which based on my research should have survived the Arizona sun better than white zip ties. However, within a few months of installing the spikes the zip ties became brittle, prompting me to go to "Plan B." Plan B was purchasing "Shintop Reusable Garden Plant Twist Tie 2.8mm, 2PCS 65Feet Heavy Duty Soft Wire Tie for Tomato Plants, Climbing Roses and Vines Organizing (Black)" on Amazon and replacing the zip ties with this wire. Truth be told, I haven't yet switched out the zip ties with the wire, but when I do, I'll update this review. 😃

Perfect and working thus far! I'm noticing the loose neighborhood TNR cat isn't hopping the fence to bug my girls chilling in their catio. Otherwise they stress and fight when he's in their backyard! So far so good! Fits my fence line perfectly!

Had a great blue heron land on these and have no care in the world

This is an excellent product. When you open the box, it looks like it will take forever . It does not. The product comes in strips nestled together and you simply pull up on a strip to loosen it from the others. Each strip can also be broken into smaller parts, and it comes with all of the tiedowns necessary to secure each piece to a railing. It is so easy to install. The spikes are very sharp. I got this product to try to deter a large insistent robin landing repeatedly on my railing to attack my windows, and of course, leaving excrement all over the place. These spikes have dissuaded him from most places, but I saw him just yesterday alighting on top of one of the spikes, so I put some streamers out as well that I bought on this platform. With both, he has not been back on the rail since. I still saw him tucked in a window area and I’m going to put a strip there as well with some gorilla tape double sided tabs on the front and back. In some of the more vulnerable spots, I also use another set of spikes that are wire spikes. But this product is really excellent for starters. These are excellent hard plastic. Nice quality and they should be durable we will see. I’m going to attach some pictures so you can see the set up. On the video with the staircase, you can just barely see the spikes up on top where I’ve also hung the streamers.

I stopped installing these spikes after I was halfway through my backyard patio fence and watched squirrels and birds perched and walking across them. Maybe these critters had kung fu training or something but they simply did not work. Now I have to remove them. The only bright side here is that they were cheap and I didn't finish the installation so it won't take me long to remove these useless spikes.

I installed these on a brick wall using plenty of liquid nails adhesive. I believe they are an effective deterrent from anyone or anything climbing over my wall.

Descent product, I bought them to deter cats from getting into my garden. Works for my needs.

We have struggled with our cat urinating in places where they should not. After setting these strips of spikes down, it has stopped. The strips are easy to instal, store easy when not in use.

Really works. No more birds on the ledger.
