How is the travel one different from your standard filter?

Hello Its not different. Same exact amount. The kit is for 2 filters which is what you would typically use in a hotel room. Hope this helps. Gene

will these work even though every thing isnt plugged into them?

The outlet on the bottom was added as a convenience. The filters work by mitigating dirty electricity on the wiring There are a number of causes of dirty electricity - appliances, lighting, how the house is wired, the electric grid, electric motors, and compressors, among others. There is a slight benefit to plugging appliances into the filter in some cases but the DE gets filtered in either case. Feel free to call if you need further clarification - 415 261-7387 / Gene

Can a pc ups be plugged in one of these, or can these be plugged inthe ups? i have a guitar amp plugged into my ups, but it sometimes hums very loudly

Hi Either way is fine. There is a slight benefit to plugging the pc ups into the filter then plug the filter into the outlet. Hope this helps. Customer Service, Greenwave
