About 80 hardbacks, 100-120 paperbacks

Because slots on #2 baords are misaligned for tabs on #4 boards, I was unable to complete installion after step 4. Is there any solution?

Am I able to stain it ?

I was able to use varnish on it (actually polyether) and it brought the beautiful wood grain out on it. I am sure you can stain it with no trouble. It has such a beautiful wood grain that if you use a light stain the wood grain would still show through. I love my book case.
