How does the child lock work on this microwave

The operating instruction booklet says: To set the child lock, press and hold the "Stop" key for 3 seconds; a long bleep will be heard and the display will say "Loc". Oven now in child lock mode. While in this mode the display will show the clock. If any key is pressed or door opened "Loc" will be seen for 10 seconds. To cancel - press and hold Stop key for 3 seconds until long bleep heard. Booklet warns to keep young children away from microwave.
