What pots and capacitors get the best results with these pickups? Can I assume 500k pots and .1uf capacitor?

I used a 500k pot but my guitar has a volume knob and pickup selector only so cannot help w/ capacitor.

What’s the orientation? which one is north up and which one s south up?

There were no instructions. I just wired it up using a dimarzio diagram. Seems to work fine, decent pickup. I barely use it. I mainly got it so I wouldn't have an empty slot on a custom build.
