No, the ARC-8050T3 cannot be connected directly to a NAS or has any NAS functions. However, the RAID volume would be accessible if the host in which the ARC-8050T3 is connected to is part of a NAS network.

Will this work with Linux?

Yes, Areca has drivers for Linux. Make sure you are running a version of Linux that is supported.

Are you able to use a USB 3.0 interface to use the management software?

No, This device does not work with any USB connector, even type C. It only work with Thunderbolt 3. For management software, you can use Thunderbolt 3 or Ethernet port

I am considering this for video editing. How much noise does it produce? I need to edit sound in the same room.

In my setup with all 12 bays filled with Seagage Enterprise SAS drives it ranges from 40-60 decibels depending. This is inclusive of the nearby workstation however so may be less.
