I used to have a boyfriend who gave great back massages, but when we broke up I just bought this foam roller and it works just as well without the drama! Seriously this thing will crack your back and loosen up the tightest muscles. I position it under my back on the floor with my spin in the center groove and roll up and down. It's highly effective and relaxing. I also use in to foam roll my thighs and calves. It's pretty firm so it may be painful at first if you aren't used to foam rolling, but I think it's more effective than the softer foam rollers. It's very easy to use and rolls nicely.

If you think the grooves/sections in this foam roller are just for show and there’s no difference between this and a traditional foam roller - you are dead wrong. The difference in release, your comfort when using and ease of use are undeniable. It comes with clear directions and links to videos to ensure proper use. Easy to use for small and large athletes. The foam quality is outstanding and it’s sure to hold its shape for a long time. As far as the firmness of the foam itself, it is on par with most standard rollers when the foam is new. They do have a softer and a harder version. I think this one is probably the most universally usable, but can see where the softer one might be more comfortable for some of the low back &. neck release activities in particular. I do have issues with my neck and even with the firmness of it, the grooves make it a much more gentle and effective than a traditional roller. It comes with removable strap makes it easy to carry and take with you too. Yes it is a price jump from traditional rollers but one very much worth it.
