3 prong plug, check your outlet before buying
I bought this for my elderly parents and tried it in person for a week. Its been almost a month and with 100 plus degree heat for 5 days in a row still going strong from what they tell me over the phone. The plug has 3 prongs, and their wall had only 2 holes for the outlet, so i had to but an adapter at the hardware store for a few dollars but it worked great. Easy to assemble and moves around easily. They have really old windows but it adjusted no problem, however you will probably need to save part of the box and tape it to the window to seal some space that inevitably happens with the unit shifting to really seal it off, but even without taping parts of the box to the window it worked really great. It does shut off on its own when it reaches the desired temperature (I thought it broke) but it kicks back on once it senses the temperature increase. It easily cools the guest bedroom I was in and when I wheeled it to the master bedroom it did great in there too. Probably not good for a large living room however.

So far so good
Got this for my basement office, which has no central ac. Generally it does not get too hot down there, but I wanted to try one of these anyway and this had good reviews and was at a good price point. It took some finagling to get the intake/vent window bracket adjusted correctly as my windows are a bit smaller, but I didn't want to cut the bracket. I managed to get it to fit by sliding the adjustable part of the bracket just on top of the tube that snaps in. I put the drain tube in a bucket, plugged it in and fired it up. Within a minute I was feeling icy cold ac! I used this for a couple of months this summer with very positive results. It seems to be put together well, it is solid and rolls easily on its wheels (although the drain and the vent tube pretty much limit where you can go. It seems fairly quiet.for what it is (then again, I like a certain amount of background noise so I probably wouldn't even notice it). I have to watch the bucket which is no big deal to me. All in all I have been pretty happy with it. I may try it in a bigger room this summer and report back.

Great AC But...
The machine cools nicely and is quiet. Compact and comes with what you need to vent. All great. BUT the instruction booklet needs to be rewritten. Trying to figure out how to operate it isn't so easy. The display is easy enough to read but getting it to do what you want is not. I want it to maintain the temperature but can't get it to do so. It is cooling, and it is difficult to change the temperature setting. It pops in and out of mode too fast. I go to try and +/- and it pops out of edit mode. The company has only sale pitches online for videos but Nothing about operational setting.

Stopped blowing cold air after 6 months
One day it just stopped being an Air conditioner 6 months after purchasing. It was cooling a room to 68 consistently all summer. Sounds great, no errors, just no longer blowing cold air. Followed online troubleshooting guides.

Great Portable AC for Small Spaces
This portable air conditioning unit is great for someone looking to cool a single small room. You will want to make sure the room door stay shut or seal off the room so that the cool air doesn’t escape. It’s easy to move around on the wheels, but not easy to move up and down stairs during install. The thing I like best about this air conditioner is that it’s not hard to use. Some that I have used in the past have had too many bells and whistles that I didn’t need and would never use. This one is simple to set up and to understand. The remote and buttons are all clear and basic. The thing that I like least about this unit is how hot the exhaust hose gets. The hose is made of a thin and flexible plastic that doesn’t do anything to insulate the hot air. It releases a ton of heat back into the home when pushing the warm air out. To combat this, I wrapped the hose with a portable AC insulation cover. I purchased the insulated cover on Amazon which it is affordable and very effective. Overall, I would recommend this unit to those that are looking to cool down a single bedroom or otherwise small room.

Amazing!
This product is truly amazing. I bought it for my apartment, which didn't have central air. It cooled the room from temperatures in the 80s down to the mid-60s. Obviously, there is some noise, but not bad considering it's an air conditioner. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I was expecting more for 10,000 BTUs
Updating my review to say that I sold this and went back to a traditional window unit (also 10,000 BTUs) and there’s no comparison. The window unit makes my living room, dining room, and second bedroom feel ice cold. Skip this product! I bought this portable AC for my living room/kitchen, which is one giant room. My benchmark for comparison is the 5,000 BTU window unit I have in my bedroom, which is just maybe a LITTLE bit smaller than my living room/kitchen. The window unit in my bedroom makes my room ice cold. I am taking into account the fact that my LR/kitchen does not have any doors to seal in the cool air like my bedroom does. This product comes with a giant hose that you connect to a window adapter that then kicks out the hot air generated by the machine. Even with this hose connected, the hot air present around the machine and the window adapter is pretty noticeable, and I think it takes away from the machine’s ability to cool the room properly. After purchasing this product, I will say that my LR and kitchen does feel noticeably better. But I was expecting to feel a little bit cooler considering the power of the machine. When running it at its lowest temperature of 61, I would say it gets the room to about 74ish degrees, which is a big improvement of 85+ but not totally up to my expectations. You only really feel the effect of the AC when you are standing somewhat within the immediate vicinity of it. In hindsight, I kind of wish I just went with a traditional window unit because they do not produce heat inside of the room and also come with more secure/effective adapters. I think this product is probably best for smaller rooms with doors, although 10,000 BTUs should be enough to cool a decent-sized room with issues.

I bought this to replace a 6000 BTU Danby model that had a failed compressor after two-three years. I am using it in a medium-sized one bedroom basement apartment, and it works great. I was able to get it set up with no problem, and it keeps the living room very cool when it is 30+ Celsius outside, and with proper fan placement I can also cool down the other rooms in the apartment including the kitchen. My only minor complaint is that the hose attachment is a little flimsy. I have attached Gorilla tape to secure the plastic attachments to the tube at either end to make it more secure and airtight. The sound is what can be expected when the fan is set to high but one becomes used to it. The best part is that this unit is self-evaporating, so unless you have extremely high humidity every single day you will need not to empty the water reservoir. Also be aware that Costway does not allow customers to purchase parts separately which was disappointing, as I wanted to purchase an extra hose and airfilters. Overall I am very happy with this purchase, it has really improved my comfort and well-being after my prior unit from Danby was failing.

Works great would have given 5 stars except for the exhaust system. The duct adapters should have been male so it would give some strength to the flexible duct also an ability to clamp the flexible duct on the adapter. The way it is set-up now when you move the unit to clean the flexible duct pulls out and distorts.

Going on our 4th summer with this unit. We probably only use it 3-4months of the year but during that time it’s been on almost 24hrs a day. It’s still going strong and has been a godsend on those hot mid summer days! It is quite loud but it doesn’t bother me. I like that you can set the temp you want it to get down to and then once reached, it goes on fan mode. It’s been great and reliable so far and worth the cost at about $100/yr at this point (bought in spring of 2022 for just over $300). Looking to buy a second for the baby room!

So far so good, we're using it in our double living room and it has managed to cool and remove the humidity from the rooms very well.. it can even be felt in the hall that joins the rooms. My only concern now is the durability but up till now it's just great and we are really happy with this purchase. Thank you! Also, the AC was shipped out immediately and we received it in about 4 days.

Bought this two years ago and only used it for the months of July & August. The hours of operation, we would use it for 2-3 hours a day, and since we weren't home that often on average 4 days a week. We stored it properly and made sure to follow the manual for cleaning and draining. So technically after 4 months of use, it no longer cools. It's just a heavy fan at this point In the beginning, it was great, blowing cold air, and keeping the area cold. On Average portable A/C units are supposed to last 5-10 years! Not 2.. and especially not after 4 months of use. Look for a better-rated A/C, and avoid this one.
