Will this interface work seamlessly with steam and other windows 10 apps? the last Thunderbolt interface i tried didn't.

RME drivers are amazing this device works with all steam apps and windows 10 apps despite how horrible windows latest revisions are with audio hardware.

Does this have usb 3.0 usb connection. The back port only looks like it will take 2.0?

The only USB connection on the UCX is a USB 2.0 B connector, however it will operate no problem connected to a USB 3.0 port. A USB Type A to Type B cable is included, it will plug right into a USB 3 type A (the blue kind). USB C would require an adapter.
