I came across this set while looking for a cat5 meter. I am so glad I decided to purchase the set. I had a crimper but this crimper with the pass through wires is great. That feature alone makes it worth it but the meter is very handy also. For people that don't make up cat5 connections regularly, this is about the easiest design we could hope for. I made 12 connections for a wired security system for my home and this set made the process go way smoother. Thank You, one happy customer.

The plier, the stripper and the toner are great are great. The crimper is good for occasional use. The blade that cut the wires during crimping is not as stable. I had to adjust and tighten the screw for it. It is worth the money for occasional use. Oh and the RJ45 connector easily fits CAT6 cable. One reviewer was suggesting it does not. It actually does.

I don't know how well these would hold up for heavy duty use. I needed to replace the tips on a couple of wires in my home network. I didn't want to replace the wires because I ran them through the walls. I bought this and some RJ45 clips and fixed them. Threading the tiny wires through the clip was tedious, but that has nothing to do with this tool. It did a perfect job cutting the wires and clamping down the clips.

Although I got the blue color, it doesn't matter as the tool works flawlessly. The blades are sharp, rachet mechanism is good. Strips ethernet cable perfectly. So far I have used on 20 pairs or cable no issues. All works. I have used pass-through connectors for all.

Check your cable connections, and restart router or switch if needed. Was pulling my hair out on this. Ended up being the plug was just slightly crimped.
