Try a different HDMI cord - scrap the one it comes with!
Our old tv died so we had to buy a new one and come to find we could only get a tv that had hdmi inputs. Ordered this to hookup our old gaming systems. Initial setup didn’t work. We were ready to return this and then decided to try an hdmi cord we have instead of the one it came with. That did the trick. Works perfectly with a good hdmi cord and not the one it came with! Sound quality and picture are exactly as they should be! Only other downfall is it needs to be plugged into a power source too.

Works excellent for Smart TV to analog receiver!
This works excellent if you have a new Smart TV and a stereo receiver that doesn't have an HDMI connection and you want to hear your speakers instead of the TVs, along with wanting to use your DVD player. Not the best photo, the adapter is below the photo, however its very easy to install. Connect the HDMI plug to the back of your TV (to TV). Connect your RCA red and white to the corresponding red and white on the RCA to HDMI adapter. (To Rcvr) The video cord from the back of my DVD player is connected into the yellow port on the adapter. The adapter needs power, any USB C charger will work plugged in. Make SURE to go into your TV with Source, under Sound/Speakers set your TV to Audio Out, tuning off the internal TV speakers. Then change your Sound Settings to PCM so the TV signal processes analog to digital. The adapter makes no noise, sound and video works like normal! Note, you will also need a Toslink Digital Optical cord, (not included) to carry Audio from your TV to your receiver.

Doesn't work
I ordered this and it doesn't work. After my review the seller contacted me and apologized and gave me a full refund. I'm very content. I have never had a seller offer a refund.
