Fantastic smooth shave
The ones I received are in the newer packs. They are laser etched on the blades compared to the old ones that were stamped. The newer ones have only one wrapping compared to two wraps of the older ones. I read different complaints on here. These are just as sharp and smooth as the older ones. These are one of the best DE blades you can buy and ridiculously cheap for 100. And still made in Russia.

Amazing blades.
These are a game changer! I’ve been wet shaving with DE Razors for over 15 years now. I have a Muhle Rocca, and Feather Asd2. The red box persona blades were my go to for years, and if my skin was irritated I’d switch to the Astra blades that day. I always thought the sharper the blade the better. That is not the case! You need balance. And balance is was these blades have good sharpness just under Feather but the coating provides a very smooth cushion for your skin, and I get to solid head shaves without any pulling or nicks . They are perfect in the Muhle Rocca. If you haven’t tried this combo I highly recommend it. For the price you can’t beat it.

Seller's mistake turned into a great purchase for me!
When I opened the package, I was ready to give a one-star review. Why? What was in the package was NOT Gillette Silver Blue. I was sent 100 Astra blades, which I had never used. The packing slip listed the contents as "Astra Silver Blue". The ad here on Amazon clearly shows Gillette Silver Blue. Is Astra made by Gillette? I don't know. They were manufactured in Russia. Maybe some of you know. If so, reply here. I had to decide, do I return them or keep them? I wasn't happy, but decided to try one, realizing once I did, I'd be committed to keeping the other 99 blades I just received. So why am I giving it a five-star rating? Because the Astra blade, for my face, is one of the best blades I've used. I get a near perfect shave with minimal nicks and weepers. I was amazed! I was previously using Feather blades, which are incredibly sharp. I had to learn how to shave with Feather blades. They require precision, a light touch, and an intimate understanding of your own personal beard growth. Apparently the Astra blades are just sharp enough to cut my hair while being more forgiving on my skin cells than Feather. Everyone's face is unique, so each of us men (or women, if you're into using DE blades on your legs or wherever) needs to experiment with different blades to determine what works best for you. For me, I'm sticking with Astra. Now... If you order the Gillette Silver Blue from this Amazon ad, will you receive it? I don't know. I didn't. But for me, it didn't matter. The merchant's mistake ended up being a brilliant one, and I'm happy!

Russian Silver Blue = One of The Best!
Sharp and smooth. Much better than Feather in my opinion. One of the best DE blades out there.

ok
Pretty good, not overly sharp. They do an ok job shaving in a Muhle R41 but don';t seem to stay sharp long? Get maybe 2 good and 1 not as great shave, then it's done.

I didn’t understand “sharp AND smooth” until i tried Silver Blues
I’ve been shaving with a DE razor for two years (Henson AL13) after decades of cartridge razors. i bought the sample packs, got my technique to a good place, have some decent shaving soap and a good brush. After two years of exploring, the silver blues are the only blade I’ve bought a 100 pack. I don’t think i truly had experienced “sharp and smooth” until these razors. I get it now. There are other fine blades - Wilkinson swords, 7 o’clocks, feathers etc. All nice. Are feathers sharper? Maybe a tad. But while they’re not nearly as irritating or scary as many say, they’re not quite as comfortable as silver blues. It’s still nice to mix it up with blades now and then but these have become my go-to. They give you a close shave and an extremely comfortable one. I shave 3-4 times a week and change the blade weekly. They’re always sharp and always comfortable. Could probably get another shave or two out of each blade but at $0.13 each (i paid $12.99 for 100) it’s easy to pop in a fresh one. As close to ideal as I’ve found for my on-the-lighter-side facial hair.

Fantastic blades
I started DE shaving about six weeks ago with a Parker 96R and a Merkur 34C, and a sample pack of blades. I've learned a few very important things about DE shaving. First, you will have to find the razor that best suits you. I liked the Parker when I first started using it, but quickly realized the Merkur is much better for me. I liked the shorter handle and much more compact head. The second thing I learned is that you have to go through a rigorous testing process with the blades to find the one you like the most. I loved the Derbys after using them for a week and thought "this is it - I'm going to buy 100 of these." Then I used the Gillette 7 O'Clocks in the green package, and thought "no, these are the best." I really wanted to like the Feathers, because lots of online articles say they are the best - and they're expensive, so they have to be good, right? Well, they do give a good shave, but with lots of nicks. Went on to the Sharks, threw them out after two shaves. Really liked these Gillete blues too. So, I narrowed it down to the green and blue Gillettes and the Derbys. I switched blades every two days, and sometimes every day, to get a feel for which blade I liked the most. After six weeks and lots of shaves, these Gillette Silver Blues really give me the best shave, with no cuts, and seem to last several days. Another very important thing to experiment with is shaving cream and, for me, shaving oil. I use Taylor of Old Bond Street cream, a good badger brush, and I made my own shaving oil with two parts castor oil and one part olive oil, with a few drops of lavender to make it smell better. I've tried shaving with and without the oil, and with the oil definitely gives a smoother shave with fewer (actually, zero) cuts. No razor, and no razor blade, is "best" for everyone. Try different razors (they're not that expensive at $30-ish each) and plan to spend a month or more testing blades. Once you know what you like, buy a ton of them and enjoy. But be sure you understand that DE shaving is a "system" of the right razor, blades, brush, cream, and oil. Skimp on any one of these and it can be a miserable experience and steep learning curve.

Sharp and lasting
Razors stay sharp for a long time and give a great shave. I have experienced little to no skin irritation. The edge on the razor has stayed sharp over 5 shaves so far.
