Brilliant service plug works fine individual switches don’t work but I’m okay with that

Bought to try and tidy up sockets where we have extension cords. Arrived well packaged. Picked this model over many other cheap Chinese as it specifically claims to meet RoHS and CE BS1363. We bought four and they are all identical and all work. The trick of being able to twist the plug around so that the sockets are either above or below the socket is good. We have put all of them underneath the socket. I tried above, and it does work, but if the plugs are heavy it does pull it away from the wall which I did not like. Underneath the sockets rest comfortably against the wall. There are also screws that can be extended to rest against the wall. It definitely looks neater. There are individual on off buttons for each socket. They illuminate when on. The build quality appears good but of course is meaningless unless the internal wiring is to spec. Fingers crossed. Overall, very pleased, seems excellent value for money.

This is very useful. PROS: I needed extra sockets in the kitchen, and this has certainly achieved that. 2 sockets are now five. I like that it rotates because this suited my needs well. The 2nd of the original sockets is used for a timer switch, and being able to rotate the adapter means that it fits next to the timer easily. The individual switches (actually press buttons) are good allowing lesser used items to be switched off. CONS: The adapter is not as sturdy as I expected for the price. It is not suitable if you plan to remove plugs regularly as the whole adapter comes out of the socket very easily. The socket wobbles if something on the countertop touches it. I would not recommend this if it were in a highly visible spot. It is bulky and unattractive in use. GENERAL: Do I recommend this? Yes, because it's usefulness outweighs the criticisms. Would I buy it again? Yes, I plan to.

I love this extension socket. I can't remember if I have 3 or 4 of them now but they're fantastic to use where there aren't enough sockets. I've used mine with a 900 watt microwave, toaster, electric tin opener, and a WiFi garage alarm plugged into them with no problem. I always rotate to the "up" position, otherwise it means what is being plugged in has their sockets upside down, and I don't like to put strain on the cable by having it bent.

This product is fine.. it is neat and it is really useful to extend sockets to be above the existing sockets with no trailing leads and without affecting the next door socket. There are other devices that extend sockets below the original ones so the fact that this can rotate round 180 degrees may add to its versatility but it makes the product worse. This feature really hinders its main purpose of extending sockets upwards. This rotating feature prevents the unit from extending backwards, which it should do to make it more stable. The centre of mass is far too far away from the wall to be stable, with the result that the plug has the tendency to pull away from the original wall socket. We've remedied this by using packing tape, but it's not ideal. The extending screws are a good idea, but if you have an old house with old sockets which extend out from the wall, this feature will not help because even at their full extent, they won't reach the wall.
