These are really useful, strong bags -- but make sure they're actually the size you want. The dimensions are totally accurate, but they really seem much smaller once you've got food in them!

Bags seal wel.

I bought these in August of 2024, and when I depleted my existing inventory and broke these out, I discovered that most are defective. Vacuum seal bags are manufactured with one smooth side and one rough "alligator" side. The rough side provides channels for the air to be drawn out of the bag, and then the bag seals when the machine feels the back-pressure of the evacuated bag. Some production runs of the Avid Armor bags have two smooth sides like a regular storage bag, so when you try to evacuate the air, there are no air channels and the machine immediately stops & seals because it sees the back pressure as "finished evacuating." This is the cause of the "Will not remove air" comments others have made. I bought (2) paks of 100, and would estimate that perhaps 3/4 of each package were defective. The defective ones are all together as though they came off of a bad run...they are not interspersed throughout the package. With both packages, the top 1/4 of the bags are fine and the rest are defective. I've been vacuum bagging ever since there have been vacuum machines (I started off before vacuum machines were available with the Dazey Seal-A-Meal system), and this is the first time I have ever encountered this issue with any of the many bag manufacturers I have used. I bought (5) bags of Avid Armor's 8"x12" bags at the same time, and they are all fine.

Conveniently sized bags. They seem to stay sealed well even after months in the freezer.

I impulsively ordered the wrong type of bags, and didn’t realize my mistake when I went to use them and noticed they were smooth and therefore not for my type of vacuum sealer. A lot of what I seal doesn’t need to be vacuum sealed, including my first use, and they were perfectly fine. I like that they are clear on both sides.
