WOW! Caught hundreds within minutes!
***Edit July 2, 2026: It’s now 1 year later and the same 2 bags and lures from last year (which just sat out in the shed/garage all fall/winter/spring) have once again caught HUNDREDS of beetles! I am blown away! We NEVER got results like this from the other brand. Situation tonight: We noticed the beetles getting bad tonight. It seems they just hatched and allllll started coming out tonight. We noticed them flying in droves towards and around the shed/garage door in particular, which we thought was odd. At first, we didn’t realize why, but as soon as we opened the shed/garage door, we could see they were flying right for the traps and we realized the lures must still be active and working! We quickly set the bags up in the yard on their shepherds hooks and within 10 minutes, we had literally hundreds in them again. Incredible! These are SO worth it. 10/10. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. 100% recommend. However you want to say it. Just buy them! Why did you pick this product vs others?: Holy cow!! We have been battling beetles every summer for years, and for the past three years or so, we have bought the Spectracide beetle-in-a-bag setups. This was my first time trying this brand, or any other brand for that matter. And let me tell you - the other brands do not even hold a candle to this one! Within minutes, we had HUNDREDS of beetles from setting up just ONE of the two bags. I’m not even joking! Side note/pro tip - do not do what I did! Make sure that you open and set it up a little bit away from your deck or door! I had never ever had results like that before so, silly me, I stood right outside my door on my deck and started to setup one of the bags, intending to get it situated and then carry it out back into the yard to hang on one of our existing shepherds hooks that we use for them. Well, within seconds of opening the lure up - no joke - I was being swarmed with beetles! It was insane. I actually ran away with the bag at first, not realizing what was happening as that had NEVER happened before. Once I realized it was the lure/bag, I put it down and ran inside to get my significant other for moral support, haha. We were blown away by how effective and quickly they started to work! He hung it up, we killed probably a hundred beetles by hand, and within 20 minutes we had hundreds more in the trap and they just keep coming! The attached photo was taken 20 minutes after opening and setting up the bag. And the video was taken almost exactly 24 hours after opening the set up to hang one bag (EDIT: for some reason, it won’t upload my video and keeps failing)! I will never, ever buy a different brand again! If you are battling beetles (Japanese, garden beetles, the copper colored ones, the brown speckled ones - ANY beetles) - I’m telling you - give these a try! I am SO impressed! Would give 10 stars if I could.

Actually catches the beetles
Works great. Catches many. Easy to put together. Need to really tie down so wind won't keep blowing it to the ground. Was unable to connect the cap to the spacers so the bag wouldn't swing as much; but maybe it's not supposed to.

Amazing beetle traps!
I made the mistake of putting this trap together outside. As soon as I opened the pheromone pack, I had Japanese beetles swarming around me. I had to go inside to finish. When I went to discard the packaging that contained the pheromones (which I had left ) there were Beatles, flying around it, and several within it, which I immediately squashed. An hour after hanging it up there was about an inch full of beetles in the bottom. I started this year with a spectracide beetle trap. After a month and a half the only thing in the trap was the rock I put in the bottom to keep the trap from flapping around. I will continue to purchase the RESCUE! Japanese beetle traps from now on. I won’t go without them. I highly recommend.

It attracts every Japanese beetle in the county.
We only bought two of these and placed them 30 feet away from our fruit producing trees. Set up was pretty easy. Hanging then was easy. We didn't have to wait long for the bags to fill. Pluses are: Chickens will come and gather under the bags for beetles that fall too the ground. So it's a great chicken feed supplement. Beetles collected also make great fish food if you have a pond. The down side of these bags is the Velcro bottom closure. I found after emptying the bags the first time, the beetle poop clogged and weakened the Velcro so that the next time the bag filled, the weight of the beetles caused the bag to open and the beetles happily fell out, flew off, and some found their way back to the lure bags. We solved that issue by rolling up the bottom and securing with some clothes pins. It may be better to hang the bags further away from the plants the beetles love, like 200 - 300feet away. The lures work well, but I think we had less beetles the last couple of years when I hand picked them off. We still have beetles in our plum trees and lots on the grapevines. And they just love my hibiscus. Note that the bags do not actively kill the beetles like some fly traps with water, so make sure you have a way of disposing of them once you have a full bag... And it will get very full, sometimes twice a day.

It definitely works
We put two of these up in our yard because they were eating our apple trees and garden plants. Within one day we are really filling these bags. All day they were swarming around the bags and we must have gotten hundreds of them. It was super easy to install (took maybe five minutes tops) and it is very effective. This is way better than having to pick them off and kill them in soapy water. Overall, I would say this is a very good value for how well it works.

Effective!!
We hadn’t seen this many beetles in a decade at our house. These traps (2 pack) worked better than expected! The traps kept the beetles off of our flowers and plants and away from our pool! Easy to assemble!

To my surprise, it actually worked...like immediately.
I normally don't review things right away, but holy cow... I opened the plastic package holding the attractant and the scene was instantly biblical. I had to run to the middle of my hard and put down the trap and my ENTIRE YARD was awoken. They were slamming into my deck door, patio door, they were going nuts and funneling into the trap within seconds. My roses, basil, corn, and the rest of my vegetables are going to be very happy Super easy to put together and I may edit in time to see how long it lasts, but as of now, in beyond pleased to get these insane beetles out of the yard. Honestly didn't think they'd stay in the trap or even fly in there but they just smack the green and fall in, or congregate and fall in naturally.

Instant attraction
As I was walking around trying to find a location, beetles were coming out of their plant hiding spots to get to me and the trap. I have never in my life seen swarms of Japanese beetles mesmerized by the aroma and lured from their food. By the time I set it up, I had them all over my arms to get to the trap- which was so friggin gross. I didn’t see any go in as I walked away, but wow they were pulled right from their food source.
