A good bit of extra kit for every tool bag/box. I had to open a 12mm hole to 16.5mm, as the only go so deep at any width into the material. I drilled in from both sides of the 45mm external door. I purchase a 16.5mm drill bit with reduced shank. Once I had it the entry holes perfect for the main 16.5mm drill bit, I drilled all the way through, so i had a clean 16.5mm hole all the way through the door, theses step drills made it so easy, 15 seconds and the job was done. I recommend. I cannot say what they are like on other materials or longevity. Still worth the money and I am sure they will come in handy again. Great purchase step drill set.

Excellent hardened step drill I used for drilling through 8mm mild steel plate on a car towbar, the drill cut through the steel like a knife through butter. Without overheating and drilled through very quickly, comes in a nice little transparent box, very pleased with quality and performance.
