The flavor is excellent as always but here's my issue. They were smashed to oblivion. In every bag, there will always be a few that broke and leaked caramel out. Ok, that's fine and expected. These however were crushed, so much so that of the multiple bags of squares - in total I got only 4 that were intact. The box that they arrived in was in perfect shape, not crushed or damaged. It was sealed from the factory in a Ghirardelli box, so the breaks didn't happen in shipping. They were packed that way. The only way I can explain for them to be as crushed as they were, in a perfectly sealed and intact box is to think that some Ghirardelli employee was having a really bad day and took it out on these bags of chocolate squares. Take bag out, stand on it, throw it against a wall, pound on it with your hands and then pack. You'll have a similar result. I'm not exaggerating. Hopefully that was a one off angry employee that got his/her anger issues satisfied killing chocolate squares. I'll order again and see if it happens twice, if so I'll not order again.
