My son used this Polar Clear Lacquer for a woodworking project, and I have to say the results are beautiful. He carefully rollered it on outside, let it dry (thankfully!), and then proudly brought it inside to show off his handiwork. That’s when the stink hit. Imagine if a paint factory and a nail salon had a baby—that’s the aroma now haunting our home. If this lacquer were a person, it would be the guest at a party who looks amazing but refuses to shower. That said, the finish is great, and my son is thrilled with how his project turned out. The wood looks fantastic, and it seems like it will hold up forever, which is about how long I expect this smell to linger. Highly recommended if you want a durable, satin finish, just make sure you have a well-ventilated area and are ready for the lasting smell!

EXCELLENT PRODUCT, I will be purchasing more of this once I have used where needed☆☆☆☆☆ For exterior walls, brick, etc for any water seepage from constant rain really does the job, when applying it dries quickly, and can be painted over too or just used as a barrier to any exterior walls etc, covers really well, quality is good to and dries as a mat finish but really does the job in an instant ☆☆☆☆☆

Did the job

Shocking, did alot of research into which product to buy, I'd painted a bookcase in beige emulsion same colour as my walls which was perfect, just needed something to finish it off and protect it from scratches ect. As soon as I opened it the smell was very toxic, overpowering so I opened all windows and doors but the smell gave me headache still, my partner in the next room said it terrible in there. I left for work and came back 8 hours later and it was still as bad. That wasn't the worst thing...the bookcase has dried with white marks all over it like chalky looking, it was ruined. Ill either have to sand it all down and do it again or bin it! I am returning it and will never ever use this product again. I'd give 0 stars if possible.

The finish obtained with this lacquer is good, but there are some issues when using the product. The biggest downside is the very strong smell, not only when applying the lacquer, but for several days afterwards. It is now a week since the application and the smell is still in the room. Another problem is that once the tin has been opened, the lacquer tends to thicken, so it is best to use it as quickly as possible. Although it states that brushes should be cleaned in white spirit, I had little success. The lacquer stayed on the brush in a claggy mess, so be prepared to throw brushes away after use. It's a pity there are negative points because the product itself does a good job.

I have painted lots of little painted models with this stuff. It really stinks when curing, you really need to have fresh air in plenty supply - but once it has cured it's brilliant and has been hard wearing so far. really makes the colours pop out :)

It’s perfect quality, it has so much gloss , it’s easy to use , and I don’t love the stickiness but when finished is so satisfying, I think is worth it

I use this for the first time today it was easy to apply, had a strong odor, but seems to add a very nice shine to what I was working on it's not dry yet so we'll see how it does but so far so good I would buy it again.

Product was partially dried. Try to use some of it after filtering it but still have some small kind sand particles so it never look smooth. Also the sheen it was too glossy. I ordered Satin finish and look more like a semi-gloss. And it took over 2 hours to dry.
