I find this Amazon item... intriguing. As the Dark Lord of the Sith, it's not every day you come across a replica of your own helmet on the internet. It's not just the helmet, though. But enough about the past, let's talk about the helmet. The Black Series Darth Vader Helmet is not a mere child's toy. It is a sophisticated piece of Star Wars merchandise designed for the serious collector or the discerning cosplayer. Not only does it look menacingly cool, but it also features authentic ventilation sounds and magnetic multi-piece assembly. A cool trick, if I do say so myself. But it's the premium deco that gets me. The attention to detail is impressive... most impressive. It perfectly captures the commanding presence of my persona, offering you the chance to step into the shoes (or helmet, if you will) of the galaxy's most feared Sith Lord. The updated sculpt is faithful to the original design, maintaining its iconic silhouette and aesthetic. It feels both familiar and new, a combination that's hard to achieve. Kudos to Hasbro for striking that delicate balance. However, I must warn potential buyers. Wearing this helmet is not just about looking cool. It's a commitment. The helmet is made for a large headed person, so my small melon just barely fit. The straps were tightened as much as they could go. But other than that it’s awesome! Lots of detail, looks amazing, and the breathing sounds are cherry on top.

Just like the other review, I preordered this item when it had a January 2023 release date. I was thoroughly surprised to get a notification that my order was going to ship a lot sooner than expected! The packaging it came in is high quality and the helmet is no less. This is the real deal and you get what you pay for. I cant picture myself wearing this for cosplay since I’m way shorter than Lord Vader and the helmet to height ratio makes it look goofy, but I do intend to buy a stand for this and display it in all its glory. This helmet is based on the Obi Wan series, so don’t expect the high glossy black finish like from the original trilogy. The upper piece is gloss black, but the main helmet piece is more of a matte steel black finish. The magnets that piece it together are pretty strong, so it takes some force to remove the collar and the helmet apart. The sound FX are great when assembling and disassembling the helmet. All in all, I’m very satisfied with my purchase. But as stated earlier, the price is steep but you get what you pay for. It’s a very solid piece of Star Wars merchandise and every fan should have some version of a Vader helmet.

Looking at it put together is the first religious experience, putting it on, is the other. While I think for the sake of practicality, the front triangle breathing grill is a bit wider than should be, but by a couple of centimeters only. OTW it's amazing. For the money, BUY IT! This Vader helmet being the Black Series v.2, the face part of the mask has been faintly "air-brushed" a gun metal shade of gray, to show contrast when the top helmet is attached via strong magnets. The mask includes detailed wires and faux voice modulators, nose tubes and best of all, the lenses are RED. Vader's helmet in Episode V "A New Hope", had RED lenses. If you look at Vader standing next to Governor Tarkin on the bridge of the Death Star, you can see Vader's red lenses showing through, but best of all, you can see Vader's (David Prowse's) EYES peering through them, also, when Vader is defending the Death Star in his TIE fighter, you can also see his RED lenses and his eyes peering through again. I believe after "A New Hope", Vader's lenses went to a dark shade of gray up until Episode VI "Return of The Jedi". It was only during (Episode IIIa) "Revenge of the Sith" that you could see Vader's helmet from the inside as it was installed onto him (Hayden Christensen). The helmet is touted as being EP V and Obi Wan model accurate. The helmet offers THREE different SFX in different stages of operation; first, the normal functioning breathe in and out - second, a hiss sound acknowledging that the helmet is hermetically sealed on The Dark Lord - and third, Vader breathing but with a damaged breathing apparatus due to both Emperor Palpatine's Force lightening as well as and Luke Skywalker having nearly vanquished Vader in battle. It's a a sad sound actually. If you saw this duel between Vader and Luke (and Emperor Palpatine) in Episode VI "Return of The Jedi", Vader nearly vanquished, lying on the ground wheezing made me emotionally choke up in the theater. Unfortunately this V.2 Black Series mask only provides four breathing gasps at a time, then stops. Then you have to press the breathing button on the right side of the neck scoop over and over again. The audio is LOUD and there is now way to turn it down. But you can buy the vintage Vader helmet with voice modulator chest box or 3rd party voice modulators that include some of the above SFX. This helmet is going along side my original Don Post 1977 Vader Helmet (not accurate), and the above mentioned Vader helmet with the attached voice modulator "Chest Box".

As a display item to mess around with now and then, you can't beat this. No, it won't get you accepted into any overzealous costuming groups, but it will pass for a lot of lesser needs and more laid back groups. You may or may not have a circle on top of yours from the molding process. Each piece is awesome. Magnetic snaps do a lot of the work. The audio is not bad at all, though I don't love where they placed the button. All that said, it's the centerpiece in our Black Series helmet collection. Very cool. Fun. Good looking. Fits my head better than most of the other Black Series stuff. Love it!

Bought this for my daughter's Star Wars themed wedding. Walked her down the aisle wearing it. Photographer took some great double exposure pics. AWESOME!

I'm mainly using this Vader Helmut as a display piece. Considering what you'll spend, it's pretty much the best one you're going to get...unless you want to spend a lot more. I mean a lot more! This one has some cool features, and the attention to detail to the inner greeblies and pieces that we catch from movie scenes, just wow. I appreciate that this has been upgraded with a more accurate neck piece from the previous version. This does make me want to have a full Vader set of armor to go with it. The helmet piece is a bit thin, but what do you expect for the price?? Top it off with the breathing effect, as well as the pressurizing effects when the face parts are put together, and you've got one heck of a Vader helmut. I didn't even know about the uneven paint job on the cheek parts before buying this, and it's absolutely accurate. I tried it on once and didn't think it was very comfortable. But I had to try it. I'm fine with just admiring it on a shelf. Get it, you'll love it.

I bought this as a display piece to show off with a few other Star Wars helmets I own but it is massive! It towers over all the other helmets I own and looks very impressive. You could wear it if you wanted but you would need a big head to fill it, it's almost too big for me to wear, in fact I jokingly wear just the top part of the helmet and pretend I'm 'Dark Helmet' from Spaceballs. Great deal if you can get it under $200!
