For the price, not bad
I've seen this strimmer getting a lot of flak in the reviews here, and coming from a very similar strimmer, from my experience, its not as bad as they say... compact in the box, quick to assemble and reasonably cheap... the lines a little short, but its in spec, you get what you pay for... in line with other reviews, first piece of line broke almost instantly, but after pulling out another length, proceeded to do the rest of my approx 40mยฒ garden with little issue, just grass and the odd weed here and there, one snap when I asked it to go through a chunk of bramble, but thats maybe asking too much... I've only used it once or twice, but for what i payee, just under ยฃ30 on sale, you can't ask for much more out of the box performance, its not a petrol weed walker, or lawnmower, its a cheap simple strimmer, and if the line you get in the box is bad, spend a fiver and buy something a little better quality, and a little thicker and it might not break so easily... how it holds up, time will tell but my last of an older model has lasted several years, and if I only get 3 out of it, its done well

THE SLIMMER TRIMMER
Weighing around 2 Kg., this plastic and metal constructed strimmer was so easy to assemble, most of it having been done so already. The hollow tubular metal arm arrives folded into three section with the power cable running down the middle; think of an elasticated folding walking stick/cane, usually for the elderly. Holes in the tube allow spring loaded metal studs to click into place for assembly/disassembly (I recommend that the strimmer is left assembled.) The plastic strimmer guard beneath slides, then clicks into place. Opposite to the plastic rear guard, is an adjustable metal wire bar, which may be slideither nearer or further away from the strimmer. This pushes plants away from the strimming cord beneath, protecting flower beds, etc. The strimmer's cord cassette, simply drops into place beneath the red capped cover, that is in the base. To open, squeeze the opposite marked sides together to release. It clicks back into place. Thread the cord through the hole in the axle assembly and adjust to the length required. A two way switch arrangement built into the top handle, switches it on and the lower switches either side, keeps the power switched on during use. Depressing the main switch shuts off the power. The safety orange coloured flex/rubber plug, is 6 metres long. Use an RCD device when strimming, sensible footwear and sometimes protective eyewear for those hidden bits of debris. There is an adjustable lower front handle, angled to requirements, by depressing both sides of the handle's red buttons simultaneously; releasing them the handle clicks into a preset position. Readjust until the best comfortable position is found. I use this handle to hang the folded electric flex. Easy to store, clean and use. It's a classic well thought out, well design strimmer, competitively priced unit for these financially slimmer times; cut costs, not quality.

I struggle with the cable feed
I have had this strimmer for 6 months now and held off reviewing just in case I was missing something. I have bought may bosch products in the past and I always find them great value and they usually work very well. This is great value - no doubt, It was easy to assemble (it comes in a small box and fits together very cleverly) but I just don't get on with the cable feed. It is not an automatic feed - you trigger it by pressing the power button on and off. I just can' get it right, I often end up having to refeed as the cable worn right down, and having to switch the power on and off makes the whole process very stop start. It is very light 0 and I do like that - I chose a cable powered strimmer as I find battery powered strimmer to heavy for prolonged use.

Gets the job done
I bought this product cause my previous way more exspensive electric strimmer broke down After years of usage. Tbh i did not fancy buying a +ยฃ100 strimmer for the amount i use it in a year. So i bought this one. My first experience while putting it together was bad. Its very easy. The tube exist of 3 parts press a button in the tube and find the hole in the other tube and it clicks together. Simple right. No. I managed somehow to push it so far in it just disappeared. Fine no worries ordered a return and got a replacement. And the second time after being more careful it connected. So that my only thing i suggest to watch out for. But when everything is put together is feels realy solid. I write this extensive review cause i really dont get all the negative reviews over this product. Yes the wire what comes with it is not as strong as a my 1.65mm wire i have in my shed. But i used the whole roll. Before writing this review. It doesn't disintegrate when you use it like some reviews claim. If used the whole roll now. And cut down very long thick grass. Thick weeds, Edging close to rocks etc. And it went all fine. Yes, it works way way better with a 1.65mm wire. So after you finished it and just put a 1.65mm in it. You should be fine. This product does the job. Even for his cheap price. For extensive every day usage i don't know. I just use it once every 2 weeks for about 3 hrs and everything it needs to do it does. I hope this review is helpful to some people to make up their minds EDIT: i said instead of 1.65mm wire use a 2.5mm wire. That was a genuine mistake. I mean 1.65mm. A 2.5mm wire wont fit. I tried. Then you guys know

Improved design but still comes with some faults
Recently bought this 240v Bosch Easy Grass Cut 23 Strimmer as a replacement for the older model. There are some improvements in the design, the dispensing of the cord is much better and easier to use than having to tap the device on the ground to release more cord. However, the cord supplied is relatively weak and constantly needs refreshing, particularly if you come into contact with a sharp stone, concrete or paving stones. Having only used it for the second time l was very disappointed to find that the Spool Cover is severely worn and one of the legs has fallen off and rendered the device inoperative. This seems to be a design fault and crops up in several of the reviews. I will now have to order a replacement currently at ยฃ8 for a Bosch version. It is a shame that a well known and generally reliable company like Bosch did not fully test this part and construct it in a more substantial material to withstand the occasional rotary abrasion with the ground.
