This is a quality product. M old strainer basket had some rust under the sink and was beginning to very slowly be humid in there...it was really old. So I bought this. I like these cup models because they are easy to install and less likely to have a leak than the other types. I changed it myself and I've never done anything like that, so if I can do it with a youtube video tutorial, you can do it too and save you some $$$ by not having to hire a plumber. It would be hard to screw this up and even if you do, you're losing a small amount of money on trying. Get plumber's putty (about $5 at Home Depot) and with a drill, and a second person to watch that you're centering the ring right, you're good to go. it doesn't take long and should last until you need a new sink or outlive you.

The product met my expectations in appearance and was straightforward to install. However, it lacked an installation manual, which required me to research and watch YouTube videos to ensure proper setup. Once installed, I was very pleased with its appearance, and it has no leaks. If it had come with clear instructions, I would have rated it five stars.

The only way to go. Forget those cheap plastic or thin stamped metal ones you see in the local hardware and big box stores,. They have a big wide threaded section up at the top just under the sink where a large lock nut holds them in place. You have a large turning nut rubbing against a cardboard washer, which is not good for getting a strong even force against the rubber-to-sink joint. Plus, you need a special wrench or a big pair of channel-locks to secure it. THIS ONE has a metal nut at the BOTTOM, threaded onto the pipe section of the drain itself, so it just pushes the whole thing up flat against the bottom of the sink. If you've had troubles with these strainer/drain assemblies leaking, or working loose over time, try this one. The design is so much better.

This is an excellent strainer if you have a sink with a larger opening like me. The standard opening is 3 1/2 inches but ours is closer to 4 1/2. That would explain why the previous owner installed a 4 1/2 inch floor drain in our kitchen sink, which caused it to drain super slowly as a floor drain is meant to. It was probably all that was available to them at the time they were installing the sink. The install was straightforward and I did everything with a pair channel lock pliers. I did not use the included nut for the bottom of the assembly because I was using a different tailpiece I ordered specifically for this project that I was able to cut down to fit the existing plumbing.

This worked exactly as advertised. It was easy to install, and the stainless steel should prevent it rushing out like the previous one did.

Good basic drain. Description should say it's for bar sink. Deeper drain model is for kitchen sink. I still installed on kitchen sink and had no complaint from tenant. Moen has been great with warranty claims on their other products.
