Good for people without sufficient access to cooking stoves/electricity for short periods of time.
I lose power in my building more than I would like both in summer and winter. Some nights and days I am without adequate electricity to cook food to safe temperatures. These are a good option when power is unavailable. Out of curiosity I tried one of each. They come sealed individually, but I would recommend leaving them in the vacuum-sealed package. They are cheaper than the ones on the Red Cross website, or comparatively priced. Pros: -Not a bad, inexpensive ration option -Stands up to the heat and humidity -Cookie-like consistency -Does not require heat, canned, or bagged, can be eaten raw or enjoyed with coffee or shelf-stable milk. -Ready when disaster (and hunger strikes) -Effective, One bar keeps you sated for hours or even a whole day, depending on your metabolism. -You can also break it up, add water or shelf-stable milk like Parmalat and make a cereal. -Small size allows more space in your bug-out bag. -Texture is not off-putting, no unprocessed chunks of ingredients -Packages arrived in pristine condition. -They taste good, coconut tastes like coconut, and cinnamon tastes like cinnamon cereal or oatmeal. Rations/food bars are worthless if you don't like the taste and refuse to eat them. Cons: -Slightly thirst-provoking and dry, but not to the point of needing a whole gallon of water. -Not good for diabetics looking to curb their sugar intake. -Not good for people watching their caloric intake, these are Emergency rations, they are similar in goals to MREs, to keep you sated and fed until you have access to hot food/meals again. -The existence of two flavors also means these are not to be consumed over extended periods of time because you will get tired of it. -Calories only, and a bare minimum of nutrients. So if you are vitamin-deficient or anemic in anyway, not a good source of nutrients. Remember to take your vitamins! Other thoughts: These are not a toy. These are basic rations for humans whose access to electricity, stoves, and food has been cut off.

Solid buy. Better than expected!
Just got these delivered and they look quite good on first inspection. The manufacture date on mine was 10/20 and expiration is 10/25 so it seems it's good for just a little under 5 years by the time it arrives. It's quite hefty and the packaging looks and feels good. Both of them came in white packaging which made me a little confused, but one had a sticker labeling it Cinnamon. I figured I'd open one of them up and went with the cinnamon one first. They are all packaged together and are all individually wrapped in what seems to be very thin plastic. Since it's packed so tightly they are all stuck in one block which comes apart fairly easily surprisingly. They are a little oily on the outside and have a slight pleasant cinnamon smell to them. I tried a bar and they taste pretty good honestly. They're plain, taste like cinnamon obviously, and pretty much inoffensive. The texture is kind of crumbly, but cohesive. It's not like compressed bar of powder though and is moist which doesn't dry out the throat. One thing I noticed is the high sugar content. One bar contains 31 grams of sugar which is quite high, especially if you're eating three of these a day as per the instructions. This doesn't concern me too much, because that's not where the intent was behind this product. It's made to be a stable food ration for emergencies which can handle varying environments, stay shelf stable for 5 years, and after all that's said and done be able to provide calories and energy for someone on the move or to survive for a longer period of time all while not making them feel more thirsty. All in all these bars are a solid buy and will provide security and ease for you knowing that you have something for emergencies. Summary: + 5 year shelf life + Packaging is solid and feels like it'll last + Tastes good, mostly plain with hint of cinnamon + Each bar is individually wrapped and come apart easily. (I don't think they'll last 5 years once you open the main bag though.) - It's not healthy, but hey you're trying to survive here. 10/10 would buy again. Hope this review helped you all.

They really do last, and they taste better than expected.
This sat in my bug out bag, freezing and roasting in the back of my car. After a year, I pulled it out, and I tried the cinnamon half. It is super edible. Maybe not the tastiest cookies I've ever had, but not bad. Sort of like the second rate cookies a relative makes that don't all get eaten by the end of the night, but are perfectly acceptable at the family holiday. Strongly recommend these a bug out bag or a mountain cabin.

Great For An Emergency
I am giving this product a review rating of four, not because it doesn't work, but because I purchased it for a lifeline's emergency. So, I haven't needed to use it as of yet. But the durability of the product is be good. So, I think it will be great with the other products ordered. SORRY, I couldn't be of more help.

I did the taste test for you (after 6 years)
I first bought these bars (cinnamon flavor) in 2019. With a five-year expiration date, they were out of code at the end of 2024. I finally got around to rotating my stock and bought a new pack in 2025, but since I've never actually eaten one of them, I thought I'd see how they tasted after 6 years in the go-bag in my car. I have to say, I was very impressed. I expected them to taste like drywall, especially since they were past the expiration date, but they tasted like an actual cookie! A dry, hard, cookie, but still pretty good, and certainly something I would eat in an SOS situation. I will definitely continue to pack these for emergency purposes. They're packaged well to last a long time and retain their flavor. You're welcome.
