Powerful Intervention
I've been going through some pretty tough times lately dealing with a range of stressors from an inability to get a complete diagnosis for my symptoms, a sudden onset of debilitating panic attacks and phobias, anger and frustration, an oversensitivity to stress and the unexpected death of a person central to my life. This book has renewed my commitment to practice the simple but extremely powerful act of reconnecting to my heart's intelligence and regain a sense of calm and composure in the midst of all the apparent chaos while resuming some of the activities I had withdrawn from due to my conditions. I look forward to going deeper into it and wish to some day get a chance to live, breathe and share these treasures with others Blessings to all those who took part in its creation! HearthMath techniques work
The timing is perfect as I just received a review request from Amazon for the book "Transforming Anxiety." Earlier today, I felt a rush of sadness come over me; it was so deep, I actually couldn't finish drinking a cup of coffee. I decided to try the HeartMath technique of breathing in and out several times while visualizing the breath coming out of my heart, and then I chose to remember an experience that filled me with love and gratitude; the tears rolled down my eyes and then I smiled. The trick is to FEEL a positive emotion, not just remember it. I kid you not, in 8 minutes my entire mood and energy level shifted! What a relief! The techniques outlined in the book have worked for me over and over again; one can indeed transform anxiety and bring a balance between the mind and the intelligent heart. I give this book five stars and a big thanks to the authors for for their healing contributions.

A Viable Alternative Solution to Therapy
I was introduced to the Heartmath solution back in 2000. While studying alternative healing methods, a colleague of mine stumbled over this method and attended a weekend retreat teaching the method. After bringing back the information we practiced with each other and found the Heartmath methods more successful for Stress and Anxiety Management than years of therapy. Therapy was only keeping us stuck on the problems and not altering thinking patterns. One has to follow the methods established by the authors and actually do what they suggest on a daily basis: not simply read, thinking the information has been absorbed. Hearthmath is something you do and you practice like meditation. The more you do and practice, the more accustomed the mind and heart becomes trained to exercise the methods allowing one to break through. The method can be transforming.

HeartMath is so easy to practice and this wonderful, informative book shares all about the theory behind it and the daily practices that keep you at ease in the face of difficult times.

Excellent and Truly Helpful
Discovering HeartMath and their materials about a year ago has greatly improved my life. Transforming Anxiety gave me the understanding and tools I needed to nearly eliminate low grade anxiety I have lived in for decades. When I do experience bouts occassionally, I know just what to do and can often stop it in it's tracks. The difference this has made for me is profound. It has allowed me to pursue long held dreams I could not before due to constant anxiety. Remarkable.

Loved this book!
Short and sweet... to the point. I learned about the stress response, what contributes to anxiety, and some ways to cope which includes new meditations to try. Also ordered one to send to my son and daughter-in-law.
