High quality, attractive, very functional.
The board is pretty, well-made, and was delivered 3 days earlier than originally quoted. It is big and it is a little heavy. I wanted to leave it on the counter all the time but that idea was rejected. It is exactly what I wanted and is the only board we have that I can cut the sheet pan pizzas I make. I will probably buy a smaller version for everyday use.

It cracked, and I still love it because I figured out the dang secret!
So this is the most amazing cutting board ever. But it cracked. So now it’s the two most amazing cutting boards ever, and I’ve learned my lesson. When I bought this, I was terrifically excited. Gorgeous egg grain teak, nicely finished, great durability. I used mineral oil fairly religiously, kept in a spray bottle under the sink, same as I use for soapstone counters, just more frequent. Kept it on my countertop all the time because it was so dang massive I didn’t know where else to put it. And that is the beginning of the drama, and of me learning a thing or two. Every few days, maybe once a week, I would find it had begun to warp, raising up in the middle. “Aha!” I would say to myself, “it’s drying out, I need to oil it more!” and so I would, and it would always thirstily soak up whatever I put on it. The drying cycle was much worse in the winter when the air is very dry here in New England — dry noses, skin, etc. my wife made fun of me for the amount of effort I put in, but I loved this cutting board for everything - meat cleaver, onions, herbs, chopping vegetables, it is a real gorgeous centerpiece and hugely functional if you have the counter space. Imagine my dismay when after 2 years, I got lazy and didn’t oil it for a few weeks and... one night I hear a tremendous CRACKing noise, come downstairs, and after searching for an hour finally find the cutting board has cracked. “Crapola!” I say to myself, “after all that effort!” So finally, I do my research. First I cut the thing into two pieces (luckily the crack was parallel to the short side). It wasn’t that I was oiling it too little, it’s that when I wiped it down I was letting it sit in a small amount of water. No wiping the counter afterwards would ever be enough. Any amount of water trapped underneath would leach in, and when it evaporated would cause the bowing. Enough bowing and it would naturally crack. Simple physics. So now I have two smaller boards which make for a lovely cheese serving tray and a gift for my son in law, and I’ve bought a new one. They don’t bow nearly as much, because I found the secret. Keep it on top of a folded kitchen towel, and pick it up to dry out once every few days! Oil it once every week or two. It drinks up so much less oil now that I keep it on a towel. You can’t beat understanding the physics. And if you doing understand the physics, they will beat you every time. It’s not the cutting board’s fault if it cracks, you (& I) are just not maintaining it right. If you want a cutting board to to be maintenance free & impervious, buy something made of petrochemicals or glass. This is wood. Treat it right, I’m confident it will last a lifetime. It broke and I still love it.

Top tier on a budget
Excellent hardwood board. Beautiful end grain design. I've used it multiple times and it still looks great. Practically a steal compared to other big name boards.

Gorgeous, high quality wood cutting board
Exactly as pictured, this is a high quality butcher block with a gorgeous block pattern. This item is really great for more serious chefs that cook frequently, want something that's going to be easier on their chef's knife, and healthier than plastic. (Nobody wants microplastic in their food.) I haven't had any issues with this cutting board even after a year of ownership. To keep this board from drying out, make sure to apply food-grade mineral oil on occasion. In my opinion, this is a very good price for the size and thickness.

Work of Beauty
This is a thing of beauty! Purchased for my son. The quality and aesthetics are incredible. Working with vendor was a breeze in spite of my ordering the incorrect board originally. Would highly recommend product and vendor

Very nice cutting board
I would without question oil this before use. They say it comes pre-oiled but I'm guessing just due to the logistics and time it takes to receive it, the oil is mostly absorbed. Beyond that, it looks amazing, it's not so thick that the weight is a major concern, but it's thick enough it's not going be sliding around. You might use a wet towel under it regardless to keep it from slipping. But for an endgrain block of this size, it's a great deal and something that should last a really long time. I've used mine at least 10 or 15 times and I can't find a mark on it.

It stays flat with proper care, great value
Purchased Dec 2017. Review from Feb 2020. When I first received the board, I took about 24 hours to oil it deeply. Edge to edge and on the sides, I allowed it to soak up a solid 6 applications (it was appx. 1/3 of a 32oz bottle of oil). After a buffing it beaded beautifully. This board sees daily use in my kitchen. Plenty of knife work and plenty of liquids. I didn’t expect to be sitting here writing this review when I purchased it, as the price is wildly lower than same-size end grain competition. I figured it would split or warp by now. Alas here we are. Chiefly, this board has remained absolutely flat. I attribute that to our dry climate and my fastidious cleaning procedures. I wash it at least 3x a week with warm water, copious dish soap, and a Dobie pad. Key to the procedure, I always towel dry it out of the sink and lay it flat to finish drying on a large tea towel, flipping it once the top is dry. I then follow up later that day (once completely dry) with the oil, which I allow an hour or two to soak in. Then I wipe off the excess and buff to that lovely matte finish with a towel. It is also is a rather fast board in my opinion, despite teac’s lower-than-most janka (hardness) rating. My knives are sharp and honed, and you can rock and chop all day on this thing. Oil is absorbed well and quickly, some blocks taking more than others. Score marks are shallow and relatively unnoticeable to your hand passing over them, even after 2 years. I imagine it’ll need a light high grit sanding sometime in the next 1-2 years, but that’s fine by me. In conclusion, this is a large board that’s great value for the money asked. Treat it with more respect than you should.

I hesitated on buying this because of its size (cumbersome to maneuver while cleaning), yet that's also exactly what I was looking for from it - the broad coverage and beautiful piece. It works perfectly, and I oil and wax it regularly to maintain the stunning colours and its hydration (to avoid any cracking and warping). I would say that if you invest in a piece like this, be prepared to care for it regularly - it deserves that and you'll be rewarded for it if so. I read several reviews here to get a sense of what people thought of the board, its composition, and the care, and knew that I was in for a commitment with looking after it but I haven't had a single regret. It's lovely, does its job, and is a beautiful decor piece in the kitchen. I have a process now where I wash it, towel dry it, apply some oil, then wax once absorbed, and flip to do the reverse side and edges. Again, it's a little work but it's worthwhile if you like nice things.

Wonderful board. But there's a smell I assume it's the smell of teak wood!?
