Mr. Cho's illustrations are gorgeous and he lavishes attention on them. Particular favorites are some of his marvel pieces. The artist in my is particularly pleased by this raw sketches found throughout the book. His line work is nothing short of inspired. Its a shame (not really a complaint) that we only get to see his handsome handling of color on the cover of this book as it is black and white. My only complaint is that the cover is a little on the flimsy side for how heavy the paper stock of the pages are. Minor complaint aside, I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Illustration. Review: Classic Studies in the Female Form - This collection of studies on the female figure, rendered in black and white, comprising primarily of pencil sketches and drawings, rendered in ink, constitutes a fine selection of work that reflects a deep understanding of female anatomy from award winning artist, Frank Cho, and represents some of his finest work. The volume also contains some sketches followed by the full fledged drawings in ink that attempts to demonstrate how the transition is made from rough sketches to some of the most delicately drawn and lovingly rendered graphic illustrations of the female figure ever produced. The only caveat is there is nothing in oils nor air brush. Nevertheless, highly recommended.

A fine first publication for Frank Cho's amazing artwork
The artwork of Cho will not disappoint anyone's sensual imagination. I'm not always a fan of his domestic females but is made up for by tough warrior women of a very ideal design anatomicaly. My favorite stuff in the book are fine art pencil and ball point renderings. In facthe I would prefer if Chocolate would release a book of just fine mediums. My only complaint is that hid bodies of work should be segregated instead of jumbled which leaves me with mixed expectations while page flipping.

Cho is the Best
Nobody in current illustration is as anatomically acute as Cho. That's why I bought this. You will only learn to train your eye by looking at good work. There are others- Adam Hues, JS Campbell many more that either have the comic balloon curves or in Hues case bulky hulky figures. Cho can articulate muscular females without making them androgynous. This book is a prototype for other works in the same category he released. All are must haves for artists that draw women professionally.

learning to draw
The book had many finished drawing as well as work in progeess. Which is very insructive on the inking process.

Don't just gawk, ORDER THIS BOOK!
What can I say about this book? Plenty, Frank Cho is an Art GOD! A master at his fine details and pencils/inking. I wish I could somehow vampirishly suck away just a tenth of his talents to make myself a better artist, I can study how he drew his art. And go from there. Plus the man has a wicked sense of humor to add to this book of eye candy!

Excellent drawings
In this book you will see many of Frank Cho's clean line art and pencil illustrations. There is no color, only black and white and some pencil shading. But his style in illustrating women are phenominal. From cartoony to comic book and a few fine art illustrations here and there and alot of pin up art. He is a great example for other artist to aspire to when it comes to drawing women. For me this book is another great addition to my collection.

look at all the pretty ladies in Cho's head!
This is a great book that shows all the gorgeous ladies in frank cho's head. It's wonderful. The art is superb and unrivaled. As well as being a great artist, Cho's a great man with the most loyal fan base around and the best works I've ever seen. Anyone who doesn't know about his Liberty Meadows comics has to run out and pick them up if you're ordering this book. Simply A Must Have For ALL Cho Fans.

Muito bom, artista excelente! Sabe captar a essência da mulher e da sensualidade como poucos! Só senti falta de mais artes coloridas. Mas, recomendo muito.

I've already seen or own a lot of the work in this and book two, but it's nice to have them collected to be able to flip through.

Cho is a very well-known comic-book/graphic novel illustrator and this quite large (though slim) paperback book is the first volume of selected work by him. All the illustrations are black and white, mostly finished ink work supplemented by pencil drawings – often preparatory or alternative ideas for the final piece shown alongside. His style is comic-book/pin-up in approach but his excellent draughtsmanship is apparent in all his work There's a nice (though brief) selection of life studies at the back of the book. There's no text, so virtually every page is devoted to drawings. A super book for anyone interested in illustration work of this kind – shame there`s no “Look inside” option.
