Fits and works
This replaced the door switch on my Kenmore oven, PN 316407100. The back side is slightly longer than the original but that doesn't affect fitment.

Great product
Easy to install on my Kenmore gas range. Perfect fit. Working good.

Oven door switch is opposite of the advertised function.
Switch is the complete opposite of what is advertised. Switch is closed circuit when plunger is compressed meaning oven light on with door closed. Switch is open circuit with plunger extended meaning oven light off with oven door open.

Not as described in function.
On when oven is closed. Off when open. Opposite of what the function states in the add. 🤬

is NOT “on when door open”.
Is NOT “on by default”. This switch turns the light off when the door is open, and on when it’s closed. Useless.

Useless
This is a normal open switch. Useless for this application.

Not What It Advertises
This is a normal open switch which is no help at all. It means if the door opens and this is not pressed it will shut the light off, instead of turning it on. You need a Normal Closed Switch for this type of application.

Oops!
I was so excited to install this switch, but... I always test an electronic component BEFORE I go to all of the trouble to install it. Imagine my surprise when I found out this switch is "normally OPEN". This means that when you close the oven door, the light will turn ON! I can't find any way around this. No amount of changing wires will allow a normally open switch to work as a normally closed switch. I highly doubt that any oven's electric circuit board overrides the function of this switch and reverses it. That simply does not make any sense. It is a simple switch. Off, or On. Mistakes can be made, and the world will keep turning. I realize the nomenclature of this switch is confusing. Normally open implies that in it's resting state - the switch is open - the circuit is not completed. Normally closed implies that in it's resting state - the switch is closed - the circuit is completed, or on. Counterintuitive, huh. BUT - "Normally open means that the switch or contact (when it is not compressed or activated) doesn't let current flow through in its normal state. The diagram below shows that when the switch is in its unpowered/original state, it allows the current to flow through it. When the switch becomes activated or compressed, it opens the circuit and causes the flow of currents to stop." Refer to Plashdotcom for diagram and description. So confusing. Regardless, view my short video for the best 'explanation'. You can see the simple test circuit I made with a battery pack and an LED. When I push the button, similar to closing the oven door, the light comes ON! This can't be correct. It should be the opposite. The light should go OFF. I reserve the right to be completely wrong, but I don't see how. Video proof. I am always receptive to a better education. Maybe the seller or manufacturer has a better explanation for me. Until then, this review has to stand. With all that said - this is a nice little switch for the correct application. I will toss it in the electronics parts box and grab it for a different project someday. It certainly works, just the opposite of how I thought it would. It looks to be well constructed. I really dislike giving a one- or two-star review. I still have a sinking feeling that this switch - installed in the correct oven model - MIGHT behave as expected. I am obviously skeptical. I would advise researching the part number first. I could only find one video online that addressed this part number, and it did NOT show the final 'working' switch. Many reviewers on this site gave it five stars though. I hope I am wrong.
