It does the melty melt and gets hard like a metal should
Used this for typical refrigeration line repair; not my usual source but the situation was atypical. I'm not used to using such a tight coil; ended up jabbing the red-hot end of the rod clean into my leg. So, beware of what you're doing.... Which goes without saying when you're handling a torch and red-hot metals. Woopsie-daisy. Works beautifully, it does require flux, and I didn't have a single failed joint while using this stuff.

Like it, for welding broken bandsaw blade

High quality
Got this for brazing copper to the king valves in HVAC. It flows much better than silver copper phosphorous brazing rods, and solidifies with a much cleaner silver finish. The only downside is the cost.

Attaching brass arm to candelabra
First time trying to solder. It was difficult. A brass arm broke off my candelabra and I knew it needed soldering back on. I read all the reviews and bought this silver solder along with the Harris Stay Silv white flux. I chose this because I needed a strong joint. I watched Youtube videos and just could not get the solder to stick to the brass candelabra. I made sure I used a soldering torch I bought from lows so I could get enough heat. A small kitchen torch will NOT get hot enough. After many attempts I finally realized I had to get the brass candelabra joint and surrounding area really hot, like it had to glow red hot, before I put the silver solder on the joint and then it attached the broken pieces together! The solder still balled up on me and it didn’t seem to flow like I thought it would, but it could definitely be user error. Anyways, it finally worked and that brass arm of the candelabra is now very secure. If anyone else is trying to repair something, hope this helps.

Great for brass soldering. Color matches beautifully.
I use this on brass because it is more gold colored than silver. It flows well at the same heat as medium silver solder. Excellent bond. Again, it is great for brass. I wouldn’t recommend it for sterling or fine silver.

works great
works great for brazing carbide inserts to a steel shaft. ( with the correct flux). what was not so great was the amazon people put a sticker right on top of what this item is. and it wont come off. duh, this is the world we live in. so i had to copy the product image , print it, and reglue it on the case.
