Hi Andrea, this product uses three (3) LR44 batteries.

Does this to come with batteries?

When you squeeze their little cheeks while they are in the packaging they talk and do whatever it is they do. Mine are all still packaged up for Christmas so not sure what type of batteries they will take later on after the batteries they come with die

My grandaughter loves this little thing. There is more to it than just a decoration. It has glasses and when squeezed it makes a sound or sentence ( don't remember what). But it is just adorable and not exprcted.
