Smooth Writing Vintage Elegance
Let's be honest - the Parker Duofold Centennial Chevron Blue fountain pen is gorgeous. The intricate 18k gold nib with its two-tone design and the engraved ace of spades is wonderfully detailed, as is the rest of the pen. The blue chevron design on the barrel and cap is a deep shade of blue that goes perfectly with the gold trim on the end cap, band at the bottom of the cap, signature Parker arrow clip and finial, where the ace of spades design makes another appearance. The overall look is vintage elegance, and it's a show-stopper. The Duofold Chevron Blue has some heft, but I don't find it too heavy in my hand. Posting the cap makes the pen top-heavy to me. So, I write with it unposted and find it well-balanced. I purchased the pen with a fine nib, and find that it is a very smooth writer on just about any kind of paper. The nib is fairly stiff, as a Duofold is designed to be, so I don't get much line variation, but I do get some. Even the fine nib lays down plenty of ink, and I don't have any problems with skipping or hard starts. The Parker Duofold uses a cartridge/converter set-up for ink, and I generally use the converter to maximize my ink selection options. Sadly, Parker uses a proprietary cartridge design, and standard international cartridges won't fit. I find it easy to fill the converter, though, and I haven't had any problems with leaking or ink flow into the feed. The Parker Duofold Centennial Chevron Blue is one of my favorite pens in my growing collection. It's beautiful and a great writer. It's not inexpensive, but I think it provides great value for the money versus some of the higher-end fountain pen brands. I fully expect to enjoy using it for the rest of my life.

Pricey, but you're not just buying a name. The pen is awesome.
Let me start by saying this is a great fine point pen. The listing though is a bit confusing. To clarify; you get one pen, with one ink cartridge. You put the included ink cartridge in the pen and you have one working pen. There is no second refill, and it is not just a refill either. It’s one complete working pen and a box. Why so pricey? 2 reasons: 1) It’s a Parker, that’s like asking why Prada purses are so expensive. 2) The pen is fantastic quality. The trim is not just yellow colored foil, it is gold; and the pen is quality. The point lets you write even if the pen is held at a 25 degree angle, as in almost lying flat. I also used it upside down and wrote till I got bored, with the point straight up in the air, and the ink did not stop flowing. If it’s in your budget, and you want a very nice pen, this is the pen for you. You’re not just paying for a name. You’re buying a hand assembled gold trimmed, precision writing instrument.

Worth every penny!
I’ve owned three MontBlanc pens and I feel this to be far superior. Beautiful, weighted , well balanced and smooth ink flow. Wonderful materials in its construction. Twice the pen for half the price. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed!

What a Lovely Fountain Pen!
This Parker is a lovely addition to my collection. This fountain pen is heavier than many models, yet I prefer this in my writing. I discovered this model on another site and searched for purchase options. The price offered on Amazon was considerably less than others. This fountain pen has a smooth writing nib and looks beautiful in hand. Add it to your collection and give this seller a try.

Great pen. Some issues
The pen is obviously a stunner. Was having flow issues and I couldn’t figure it out. Flushed it and still wasn’t working well. Took it completely apart (nib & feed) and washed with soap and water. Noticed a hard black substance stuck on the underside of the nib. Not a lot, just in some spots. Scraped it off with my fingernail, put it back together and wallah. Perfect flowing pen. I do recommend this pen. Everything about it is amazing. And the finish of the body even works as a worry stone.

No regrets
I got the Blue Chevron version of this pen and it is quite beautiful (needless to say, at this price point you buy the pen more for its looks than for its nib). First - the pen is big and heavy overall, but the cap is what makes the statement (it is BIG). Without it, the size of the pen is "normal", although still on the hefty side, which I like. A lot of metal went into making this pen, which I also prefer to just "resin" (i.e. plastic). The section is metal, but more of the "brushed" kind, which makes it comfortable to grip, unlike the polished type. This pen is a conversation starter - if you pull it out in any setting - people will instantly talk about it. Some people like this, others don't, but keep it in mind, if you plan on taking this pen outside your home office. The pen came with a gold-toned converter which was a really nice touch. No issues with the converter. I got the Fine nib and have no problems with it, wrote as expected right out the box, something rare these days. It's a big nib, which is not my preferred size, but I knew what I was buying. Combined with the weight of the pen, it requires absolutely no pressure to write, all you have to do is just glide the pen, especially if you are writing on Clairefontaine. And it looks amazing. Overall, I have no regrets buying this pen.

A Major Flex
Look, there's only one reason to own this pen. And it's not cause it's the best writer, and Lord knows it doesn't have the best ink capacity either. This, is a signing pen. A flex pen. I don't mean the nib bends- because Lord knows it's the stiffest 18k nib you'll ever use. This is the pen you use when you want to flex on someone's else. When you're signing a contract or a bill or a book deal or termination papers. What are you going to sign with? That flimsy ballpoint pen the receptionist hands you? The balls-less ball point done up to look like a daisy? Or are you going to sign that thing like a man? "No, no, no." You hold out a hand and cooly wave off that emasculated excuse for a pen. You get looks off confusion at first. And then you reach for your breast pocket and whip out this weapon of mass destruction. It's big and it's gold and it looks exactly how an expensive pen should look. Even people who don't know the slightest thing about pens look at this pen and go, "DAMN." That is this pen's sole function and it performs it's function "DAMN" well. Thank you for listening to my review.

Expensive but beautifully crafted pen
A beautifully engineered metal pen that feels great to write with. I opted for medium nib and am not disappointed. The finish and craftsmanship are excellent and the pen does exactly what is says on the tin! A premium price for the pen that definitely says 'luxury', however, that said, a pen that will last several lifetimes if taken care of.

Scratchy nib and issues
I have received a scratchy nib and there was a problem with the assembly of the body and rings. It started to fall apart as soon as I tested it out. Lastly, there was no warranty card or authentication certificate included. I wasn’t expecting all of this to happen when I bought this expensive pen.
