I purchased these even though the reviews were a bit mixed. I have a Westinghouse whole house filter and the original o-ring was getting wonky. When I changed the filter this dropped right in and sealed properly. Will buy again when needed.

If you are not a plumber, even the simplest diy repair can quickly become a nightmare. The sediment filter on my fixer-upper farmhouse hadn't been changed in 2 years. I am thankful that Amazon showed the Captain O-Ring as a companion purchase for the filter cartridge because the existing O-ring tore apart when I wrestled the filter casing open.
