I was logging in to buy my 2nd bottle and couldn't believe all the negative reviews. I think people have to be a bit realistic with expectations. I can imagine any stain that sits for month/years will be trouble, no matter what you try to use. What I can say with confidence is that this helped me get some black roof sealant off my couch (didn't know it was on the back of my leg and I brushed up against the couch; saved my marriage) and I have used it to save several articles of clothing the last few years that had stubborn stains that didn't come out after a good wash. I put this on, let is stay for about 20 mins and then hand wash using laundry detergent and rinse well before throwing back into the next load. Has worked every time. That's why I am buying another bottle. That having been said, the odor is very strong and that is why I hand wash and rinse quite a bit before laundering with the rest of the clothes. Small price to pay to save favorite clothing...

I bought this to clean up a pair of women's fabric-covered high heels. I am not a pro at using dry cleaning fluid, so I'm sure I didn't do it just right, but it turned out okay. Hoped for better, but definitely showed an improvement. perhaps someone with a little more knowledge or patience would have better results.

Stunk up my living room, did not clean my chair. I think it actually looks worse.

I bought some linen slip-covered chairs from Craigslist. Some of the chairs had some stains on them. I was going to have a carpet/upholstery cleaner come to clean them but I checked with the manufacturer and the material was code "S" meaning water cannot be used. I thought I would try this product out. First of all, note that this is only a 4 oz bottle. The picture looked bigger and I didn't pay attention to that detail. That is my fault and not the vendor's. The bummer is that this product didn't get the stains out. I would say the stains are "improved" but it did not entirely take them out. There were some black marks on the back of the top of the chair (like scuff marks from a wall?) that did not come out AT ALL. I followed the directions of blotting it on with one cloth then off with another and also using a hair dryer to make sure no rings formed. I am happy to say that using this method I did not get any rings. After several attempts like this, I tried rubbing in both directions of the fabric with no improvement. I will try another solvent based cleaner to see if I can get the stains completely removed or not.

Everyone should have a bottle of dry cleaning fluid

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews, it perfectly cleaned all kind of stains (sweat, ice-cream, even blood) from my S-rate (dry cleaning only, no water) rated sofa upholstery. The bottle is small but will go a long way cleaning stains. The smell is not that bad either, sure it is chemical but it has a very tolerable orange blossoms scent which will vanish within a day or so.
