Ion Lavender Semi Permanent Hair Color Lavender

- You need 3 tubes for shoulder length hair and much more for thick or longer hair. This stuff is the consistency of toothpaste - Dilute with WATER, not conditioner. I guess some conditioners work -- mine did NOT. Water definitely works fine. Why? My first try, I diluted with Tresemme conditioner, mixed very well, and carefully applied with a brush. The results were large sections that were white, lavender, or silver. Ugh. The second time, I diluted with *water*, mixed very well, and applied with a brush (same as before). The color came out almost perfectly evenly -- a bright purple everywhere. The color was much brighter than I wanted, and it didn't fade! Over three weeks of shampooing my hair x2 every time I showered, it finally faded just a bit to the point where people called it "lavender". Just know that if you dye over platinum bleached hair, you will not have this pale color from the beginning. I've attached a few photos of the change in color over time. First photo (glasses) is after one week -- second photo (in the dress) is after 1 month. This stuff doesn't budge. A lovely bonus: If you bleach over this dye, it turns a bright greenish-blue color (mostly green), like Listerine. Seriously! It's almost impossible to avoid doing this just a little at the roots when you touch them up and it's ... pretty distressing. So don't plan on just bleaching this color out of your hair, and don't touch up your roots unless you have new dye on hand. This dye stays in hair well, and fades true to color. I've now let it fade (still shampooing x2 with hot water) for six weeks and it's still an even pale purple. I will definitely use it again if I want purple -- but probably only as streaks or ombre because of the issue with bleaching.

I used this for the tips of my extensions. The dye took very well and ended up being a little darker than I expected. My extensions are clipped in so I do not wash them regularly, if you were using this on hair that is washed frequently, fading may be an issue.

Other than the fast shipping provided by the seller, everything else about the dye was terrible! I was looking forward to try out Ion Color Brilliance after reading some pretty good reviews here on Amazon, but in the end, the lavender color that I applied on my newly bleached hair (I bleached it two days ago, my hair color was almost white) became an ashy brown??? Lesson learnt - I'm sticking with Manic Panic As for application, one tube isn't going to dye your whole head. I have a short pixie cut, and one tube was barely enough. And the condition of my hair is in a pretty bad shape, dry and sort of damage. I will not purchase Ion again.

I haven't had any issues with the color fading to teal. I really like the grey/lavender color it came out as. Probably a little darker than advertised. However, even though I had it applied by a professional, some spots are way more blue than others. I like the look, because the ends of my hair are Manic Panic Shocking Blue, but I wouldn't like it very much if I had wanted an al over consistent color.

Ion is awesome, wish it lasted longer tho. Fast shipping. Still lasted a month tho, not bad

Got Lavender and the color was exactly what I was looking for. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! My only issue with this color is that it fades way to quickly. After 2 washes it was almost completely gone from the ends of my hair, but still had some color near the root. I am in love with this color I just wish it would last longer. Picture is AFTER 2 washes.

This is the best lavender color I have tried so far and I have used the lot. It’s the perfect lavender tone, not reddish or too blue. Lasts about two weeks or so depending on how frequently you wash your hair. The color comes through better with more lightened hair, close to white/platinum. It’s also geeat for toning those orangey blonde strands.

I was really hoping this product would work - my hairdresser found it and recommended it. We bleached my hair first so I could get a true lavender color, soft pastel. Going on, the product itself has a weird, almost rubbery texture and didn't coat easily. Required an entire tube on my short hair! It looked gorgeous for precisely one wash and then started fading. By a week later, it had changed to a mess of purple/pink/blue blotches. I re-did the color hoping it'd stay on the second coating. Nope, same thing, faded and not uniformly or nicely. Some parts even looked kind of greenish blue. Dreadful. Had to have my hair completely stripped down to platinum to get this crap out, after the THIRD coating still didn't take or keep.
