Feature loaded and a impressive price
After the first few days, I'm really happy with this system. As Micro systems go, the sound is pretty good. There's not a lot of bass, but that's expected with a system using basic bookshelf speakers. What sets this system apart from other systems in the price range are the features. Most micro systems don't have many inputs. This one has not only the standard RCA and 1 1/4" inputs, but also USB, Bluetooth, PC and Digital Audio. The digital audio input allowed me to move my tv to that input, freeing up the RCA for another component such as a turntable. I also like that the Bluetooth input allows for multiple devices to pair with it. This will be perfect for those times hanging out with friends, having a beer, and taking turns picking songs to play. The system also has Bluetooth headphone output as well as the hardwired 1 1/4 headphone port. While I don't have Bluetooth headphones, I have pair the stereo with my Bluetooth wireless speaker and then taken the speaker into an adjoining room. This will be nice if my wife or I'm in the kitchen and we want to hear music from a source other than the phone or streaming service, without having to turn the stereo's volume up to encompass the entire first floor. Set up of the system was easy. All of the logic of the controls made sense with a quick read of the instruction sheet.

A excellent purchase at an amazing price.
I purchased the open box unit from Amazon for $99.00 It has a subwoofer pre out and a optical input. The cd player and USB for flash drives works flawlessly This unit can play high resolution music so I connected the WIIM mini music streamer to listen to lostless music. I also replaced the original speakers, the unit has 5 way binding posts on the back. I connected a set of Micca MB42X speakers. It produces enough power for a medium size room just not at high volume. **UPDate I connected the Monoprice 8" 60 watt Subwoofer just to add a little bit more bass to the bottom end. Not bad for a $400.00 system. I play my music volume between 60 to 65 db this is loud enough for apartment living. My budget system sounds petty damn good.

Display died after three years
I didn't want to believe the other reviews re the dead display, but sure enough, I only got three years out of mine. The unit was placed on a shelf and never moved or dropped or anything that would account for the defect. It's a real shame because I think the sound on this unit is fantastic!. It still works fine, otherwise, but I have no idea what track I'm on, which play mode, etc. I tried Sharp Customer Service and they said their warranty was only good for one year.

AMAZING SWEET SOUND FOR MY VINYL
I purchased this just for the amplifier to use for my big Onkyo 110 watt floor speakers from 1994 with the goal of getting a more substantial amplifier down the road. Well, it came time to get the new more substantial amplifier. I purchased the new substantial amplifier but I found out this sharp system is an amazing inexpensive amplifier for vinyl records. Very warm and sweet sound compared to the two other more expensive amplifiers and better!!!! Even tough it is only 25 watts per channel this has become my main amplifier for vinyl. I guess at the end of the day in audio you can find less expensive systems that just sound amazing and price and specifications sometimes don't mean that much.

Best value and utility
I researched similar systems for months but I am very happy with the Sharp XL-HF203B High Resolution System I purchased 2 weeks ago. This system has the most input options and also has a passive sub woofer output. I was worried that with a system this small a sub-woofer would be needed but after listening to this system I no longer feel that I do. I don't even use the bass boost option. The speakers look very nice and the sound is as advertised "high resolution". I am hearing very crisp clean sound with zero hiss or bleed through or mechanical sounds (with CD). I listen to a lot of USB flash drives and was pleased that It has a random play option. The cabinet of the main unit is all metal and the volume knob has a solid feel. The remote is quite good and very responsive. Overall I really couldn't be more pleased. I did opt for the 3-year protection plan(about $20) because I read that some people have had display problems. I had a budget of $250 but even with the protection plan I came in at about$175.

Display dead after 3 months!
I liked this little "shelf" stereo. All the features work with ease, and considering it's small size and price category, the overall sound quality is good. I didn't try the headphone jack, so I can't comment on that. BUT BEWARE, like others have complained, the quality of the internal components are not great. My display went dead after just 3 months!! I have an excellent "big boy" Kenwood receiver from 1978, and it still works great! A note to all the electronics manufacturers out there: Why do you allow such junk to hit the market? Perhaps it's time for Japanese brands to bring manufacturing back to Japan.

Good Sound and NFC Remote Control
I like that this stereo give me basically what I wanted. It have bass boost just like a Sharp boombox I had years ago so that was a good surprise and it brought back memories :-) The speakers on this stereo was hard to get in to the stereo. Sharp should've made the wires of the speakers go in to the stereo easier and reasonable. This is a good modern stereo other than that.

Digital Read-out Stopped Working after 6 Months
UPDATE: As of July, the digital read-out stopped working. With no digital read-out, you cannot tell if the set is on/off, cannot tell which function you are in (play CD, play radio, etc). Returned it to Amazon for refund. Thank you Amazon. Went and bought another CD Stereo System (Yamaha MCR-B043RE Micro Component System in Red). Haven't received it yet, but I hope it works out for my son. LOVE It. Bought it for my son for Christmas. He is Autistic and he loves it. Very easy to use. Donna .
