VKO Vintage Camera Strap, Rope Neck Shoulder Strap

right length, great addition to the Leica Q3. this is long enough to easily fit over your head and shoulder for easy arm out take photo.

I was using a 30 year old neck strap that I had hanging in the closet. I recall reading how Nikon had an auto designer on the F3 and the start of red trim on the camera grip. So I opted for a new strap in red and long enough to hang down at the hip. So far I have been very pleased how soft and smooth the strap is. Once I start using the camera in the middle of summer we see how it feels around the neck when it’s all wet from sweat. My main reasons for this was color and length of strap. After a few months of wear we’ll see if it will hold up. My guess is yes, it will and you should consider it, if you are in the market for a new strap and are tiered of using black. The other colors my be a good choice too.

This strap is well made, and for the price it’s one of the best straps I’ve ever had. Better than some straps I’ve paid three times more for. I like the length being a little longer. You can’t go wrong with this.

I have a black Nikon FM and was looking for a different strap. Someone in a Fujifilm camera group on facebook shared a photo of this strap and I ordered one that same day. The color looks great with a black camera, simple and clean. Love it.

I shoot sports for sometimes hours at a time. Traditional camera straps chafe and get uncomfortable quickly. This “rope” strap is soft, comfortable and handles the weight of my camera and lens nicely.

So weird. Metal rings were missing. Strap otherwise looked good. Fortunately, I was able to take rings off the shorter strap that I was replacing with this one to make it work.

Diesen Kameragurt verwende ich an einer Fuxi X100, diese relativ leichte Kamera trägt sich sehr bequem an diesem eher schmalen Gurt. Davor hatte ich nur eine Erfahrung mit einem Gurt dieses Stils, indem ich für eine Leica D-Lux den Leica Rope Strap gekauft hatte. Leider war der Leica Strap relativ hart, er ließ sich nicht gut in der Fototasche unterbringen und die (ebenfalls sehr leichte) D-Lux trug sich sehr unangenehm durch die schlechte Verteilung des Gewichts. Der Unterschied ist die Flexibilität der Gurte: Dieser hier ist viel elastischer, nicht nur hinsichtlich seiner Biegbarkeit, sondern auch in der Länge. Dies möchte ich nicht bis ins Extrem austesten, da vermutlich dann ein Problem mit der Stoffhülle auftreten dürfte. Der Gurt passt sich dadurch aber bequem dem Hals an und verteilt das Gewicht sehr gut. Auch das Material der Schlaufen macht einen stabilen Eindruck, dies scheint synthetisch zu sein. Durch die Flexibilität lässt sich der Gurt auch sehr gut mit der Kamera in der Fototasche verstauen, ohne dass man ihn vorher aufwendig zu einem Ring zusammenlegen müsste. Das Problem ist, dass alle diese Gurte auf den Fotos ähnlich aussehen, die eigentlichen Unterschiede aber in den haptischen Eigenschaften liegen. Und hier liefert dieser Gurt ab. Dies ist kein Kletterseil, es sieht schlicht nur so aus. Dies ist in diesem Fall eine sehr gute Entscheidung des Herstellers, die für den Komfort sorgt, der "echten" Kletterseilen abzugehen scheint (s.o.). Eine schwere Kamera würde ich nicht daran hängen, dies würde vermutlich dem elastischen Material nicht gut tun, aber erst recht nicht meinen Halswirbeln. Insofern ein wirklich gutes Produkt für leichtere Kameras.
