This switch is the perfect replacement for the original failed one for my GE stove dual zone hotplate. The shaft length on the new switch was too short for my stove, but luckily it was trivial to exchange it with the one from the original switch. I simply removed the top plate of each switch by releasing the clips on either side with a small screwdriver, after which he shafts came right out and were easily exchanged. Note that the shafts could only be inserted with the correct orientation, making the exchange bomb proof. Wiring the new switch was a simple process of moving the wires one by one from the old switch to the new one. It is currently working as expected and I am delighted with the result. Hopefully it is going to last a long time..

Issue: 9" burner (dual) would not operate. Indicator light on stove top was illuminated to warn of "HOT COOKTOP"...but the cooktop was had not been used. Only the 9" burner was not working. All others functioned fine. We opted to replace both the controller (this item) and the dual element. It was obvious upon disassembly that the heat sensing rod and several parts of the nichrome heating wire on the element were damaged/expired. For this reason we replaced the range element controller and the element. Very easy to do. The replacement controller was identical to the one in the stove. Once the electricity was disconnected from the stove, I simply disconnected each wire (one at a time) from the old unit and made the same connection on the new unit. Rinse and repeat until done. You will need a phillips screwdriver. Needle nose pliers are helpful to plug/unplug the spade connectors from their terminals. Worked fine once reassembled and power restored. Wonderful product no doubt, made my day!
