Great 4K, Great Price
I built a gaming PC last May (GTX1080, 7700 processor, etc) and originally bought an LG ultrawide monitor. I was really new to all this and did a fair amount of research on PC components, but when it came to the monitor, I think I was so tired of research and didn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money. The LG ultrawide is cool, but it “stretches” some games, isn’t really supported by others, and definitely wasn’t taking advantage of my PC internals. I decided to shop around for some 4K monitors, and use the LG for music production. I was first looking at a Predator, but didn’t feel comfortable spending almost $700 when basically every other review was bashing their horrible QC problems. I found the AOC AGON AG271UG and it was right in the price range I wanted and had decent reviews. I was stuck between this being only 60hz or upgrading to a 144hz, but I don’t really play competitively so thought the extra cost may be unnessecary for my needs. I bought the AG271UG 27inch monitor with Prime and two days later it was at my door. Took it out, hooked it all up and started it up. I noticed split right down the screen, the left half of the monitor was red (picture 1) and could be seen when on the desktop (picture 2). I fiddled with the settings but didn’t help. It was very odd, it would cause blacks to be reds, but it was transparent so when I had Google Chrome open it would only show through the blacks. I restarted the monitor and it seemed to correct, but came back shortly after. I looked online and didn’t see any info about the problem. I’ll be honest, I was bummed because I read so many monitor reviews about garbage QC issues and knew I received a lemon. I contacted Amazon Support and sent it back the next day (super easy process). I debated about ordering the same monitor or if that was a “sign” to get something else. I decided to order it again and it was delivered the next day, super insanely fast shipping. I have been using it for two days and doesn’t seem to have any bleed, dead pixels, or any issues (picture 3). I’m still messing with the color settings, but I really like this monitor. 27 inch is the perfect size and I love how easy it is to adjust the viewing angle and height of the monitor. Using 4K mods in Fallout 4 and playing Divinity: Original Sin II, I can see all the colors really pop and see the difference from my old monitor. I also checked out some 4K videos on YouTube and they look spectacular. I’m also using the G-Sync since I have the Nvidia gtx 1080 and haven’t really had any issues game performance wise. The speakers aren’t that great and the monitor menu could be updated, but those aren’t things to cause too much fuss over. Overall, really happy with this monitor. If you’re looking for an entry 4K monitor and don’t want to break the bank, I would see definitely check this out. Sure it’s only 60hz, but for the price some sacrifices will be made. Sure my first monitor was messed up, but an easy return process and a insanely fast delivery of the second and everything is good! Bring on Far Cry 5!!!

This monitor is soooooooooo much better than my previous monitor
This monitor is soooooooooo much better than my previous monitor. I absolutely love playing on it (and strangely, owning it). To start with, the build quality is amazing. The base is cool brushed metal and very substantial. When you adjust the height or the screen angle the feeling is smooth and solid. The casing feels like quality as well, and doesn’t “creak” when you move it or pick it up. The control buttons under the frame don’t jiggle around. I spent some good money on my PC because I game on it several hours per day, and this monitor does do my PC justice. Second, you can see that AOC built this monitor for gamers. In addition to all the gaming specs, the base is “V” shaped so you can angle your keyboard when you play, as I like to do. There is a scale on the back showing the exact height of the monitor so you can reproduce your exact setup. There’s a retractable headset holder, and inputs for your headset and mouse on the side of the monitor, if that’s your preferred set up. I do, because I bring my headset around with me a lot, and I hate to keep crawling under my desk to plug it in and unplug it all the time like I used to do. The most important thing about this monitor is of course the visual experience you have when you play. I play shooters and the response time and smoothness are all the best I’ve seen. CS:GO in 4k is mind-blowing, and getting 4k now means not needing to replace your monitor in 2 years. Make sure you use your display port input. I know there are other monitors with high-end gaming specs, but this just feels fast. It’s a G-Sync monitor that’s made to work with my GeForce gtx 1080 video card (make sure you have an Nvidia video card). Not once has the screen stuttered and I haven’t noticed any artifacting or tearing. I haven’t seen anything better in stores or at the shows I’ve been to. What would I change about the monitor? It was not cheap. Nope. But I guess you get what you pay for, and after all, you’ll be looking at the monitor for hours a day for years. To me it was definitely worth it. If you’re a serious gamer with an Nvidia graphics card, you really need to see this monitor before you make your decision.

A good monitor if you win the panel lottery.
At first I thought I had won the panel lottery. But two months later there were horizontal lines about 10 pixels apart going up the right side of the monitor. After I got a replacement, the fun began. I had a panel with about 3 groups of dead pixels. I returned it with no issue. The third monitor had the same issue. Dead pixels. I don't know if I am being pedantic, but I believe there should be no dead pixels. Support even said that their panel warranty covered the issue, but they would not send me a fourth monitor. If you value your time, want all your pixels and a functional monitor, look for a company that has your back and wants you to be satisfied. If you have time to play the panel lottery, this one's for you. Apparently you only get three tries.

Affordable IPS, GSYNC, 4K monitor to come home to :D
Ag271ug Pros: 27 inch, ips, 4k gsync, adjustable height, tilt, and rotation, easy osd, great colors, blue light setting slider for night time use, stand and build are superb, and very responsive! Cons: CAN NOT OVERCLOCK ABOVE 60HZ! fairly weak viewing angle (not an issue unless you have people watching on the sides), light bleed around edges during dark scenes ( not a huge issue for a 4k ips ), usb side ports only work if usb cable from monitor to pc is attached (more cables...). Overall great monitor for the price. This is geared more for people who like how games look mixed with above par performance from a monitor. Not really meant for competitive gaming, that would be more of a 1440p 120hz+ monitor. A shame it cant overclock above 60hz, but playing at 55fps using gsync and rivatuner things are still very smooth! Obviously this is also dependant on pc and game development. Colors are great once calibrated, and the lights and darks are very good as well. If you want an ips 4k with gsync this really is a bargain! My rig: i7 4790k @ 4.7ghz, msi gtx980ti @ 1430mhz (display port), 16gb 1600mhz ram. Win 10.

poor quality for the price and lack of quality control
The first 2 that I had sent to me had dust (or marks) underneath the film and were very noticeable. I sent both of them back and finally got one that didn't have blemishes. For the price, it's definitely not worth it. LG has better monitors without the useless added on features. The USB pass-through is nifty but more of a novelty. The audio quality of the speakers is absolute garbage. And I haven't been able to get the audio jacks to work. If I could send it back and buy something else, I would. Also, there's an intermittent flickering occasionally and images are stuck afterwards.

Cant say enough good things about this monitor
Cant say enough good things about this monitor. No weird spots. no dead pixels. Super bright. This combined with gsync on a 1080ti is just amazing. I play all my games now at 4k with no screen tare or lag.

Faulty HDMI Port, Flickering Image
Bought two of these three months ago and the HDMI port on my wife's has stopped working. Up until this point, everything has worked, for the most part. Our PCs are connected via DisplayPort and aside from the more-than-occasional screen flicker, it looks great. The build quality is sturdy and the height adjustment is phenomenal. I haven't reached out to customer service just yet, but from my research so far, it's not a promising avenue. You might want to think twice about this purchase.
