I live in a two story house. I currently have a couple of large ladders and a small stepstool. I wanted to get a ladder that I could store conveniently upstairs, which would not take up a lot of space yet was tall enough to reach my ceilings. This ladder seemed like it would be what I needed. I was concerned that a ladder with only 3 steps would not be tall enough but I was wrong. I was able to comfortably and safely change a light bulb in a ceiling-mounted light. The ladder is sturdy and doesn't wobble. The steps are textured and wide so my footing feels secure. And it folds into a very thin profile, so thin that I store it behind the door to my office when not in use. (My other ladders are stored in my garage downstairs.) It is perfect for what I needed. I only have two minor complaints. The first is that the locking mechanism is not the greatest. I'm used to a ladder locking automatically when fully opened. But that isn't the case with this ladder; it takes quite a bit of force to fully lock it. What that means is that when it is opened, it doesn't lock until you step on it, and your weight is enough to push it in place to "click" it. I don't see this as a real safety hazard, because it locks the moment it is used, but it was unsettling the first time I used it because it wasn't expected. Now that I know about it, it's not a big deal. (It also unlocks pretty easily; get off the ladder and pull up from the handle in the top step and it will unlock and fold, no need to push a lever.) The other, even more minor issue is that the manufacturer label that was on the top step was already peeling when I took it out of the shipping box. It might have been an issue with not enough or insufficient adhesive, but it was also curled up quite a bit so there might have been more than that. I just pulled it off and no residue was left behind, so no big deal. There's just a blank spot where it used to say "RIKADE". Overall I am extremely pleased with this ladder, especially comparing the price to similar options. It's a great bargain and was exactly what I needed.

I was looking for a 2 step ladder that had great stability and load bearing weight (330 lbs for this ladder) as the main criteria. I looked at a bunch on Amazon and even tested a few at my big box store. I ended up choosing this one because of the how thin it can fold down to, the generous size of each step, and basically how stable it was according to reviewers. We own a 3 step ladder from a popular company called Rubbermaid, but to be honest, it doesn't feel very stable due to the rubber feet. It wobbles from side to side if a lot of weight is carried on it. I've climbed to the top of this ladder and leaned on the handle portion with heavy boxes in my hand, but this step ladder didn't even move an inch. I was a little concerned when I read some reviews about there being a gap on the top step when trying to latch down this ladder, but I haven't really experienced any major issues with it - it might just take a bit of effort to snap it down, but when it's in place, it is super solid.

The description states that the 4 step weighs 12.43 pounds, but it actually weighs 16 pounds. When it arrived in the box, I was dismayed because it seemed really heavy, so I weighed it immediately and it was 19 pounds with packaging. I have a bad back and ease of use is important to me. The ladder itself is great - very sturdy with non slip feet. You can stand safely and comfortably on any of the 4 steps because they are larger than normal ladder steps. Each is a non-slip platform. It is a bit difficult to lock down and fold up, but that isn't all bad since it is brand new. It was missing one rivet on the back when I received it, but rather than lug it somewhere for return, I found a bolt in the garage that fit. All in all this is a great stepladder, not as light as my Rubbermaid 3 step (8 pounds) but given the design of the steps and sturdy feel, I can handle the 16 pounds. I am going to replace batteries in my smoke detectors today!!!

I hate ladders. I never feel comfortable climbing to the top of any ladder. I'm 6'4", 275 lbs. When I get up to the top of a ladder, they flex and wobble. I always feel like ladders are about to foldl or slide out from under me. Not this ladder. The base is wide and sure-footed. When it unfolds, it clicks firmly into place - locked open and definitely not folding up accidentally. The uprights are strong. The steps are solid and grippy. The top step is extra deep, giving me a large platform for my feet. The top crossbar hits my shins just right, so I know exactly where I'm at without having to hold on or look down. It doesn't wobble one bit when I'm on top - leaving me confident to stretch and lean and take care of business - like mounting the star on top of my 9 foot Xmas tree. And when it is folded up, it's super skinny. My girlfriend just looked over my shoulder: "it's only $70?! That's crazy!" It's that good. I'd pay double.

I needed a sturdy, well made step ladder for reaching the upper cabinets, changing light bulbs, replacing batteries in smoke detectors, etc. Previously, we had to haul out our very large and heavy tall ladder for these smaller tasks. What a pain! This four-step ladder is perfect for our needs. It is fairly light, sturdy and easy to move around. It folds up neatly for storage. The steps provide good traction and the rubber feet ensure the ladder won't move around when you are standing on it. Love the handle at the top too. It gives me confidence that I won't lose my balance. The ladder arrived quickly and was very well packaged to ensure no damage in transit. I would highly recommend this step ladder.
