Works like a charm
I've bought other replacement chargers for my radio, and none of them would hold the battery properly so they wouldn't charge. This one, however, is almost identical to the original (it may even be the original). The battery fits perfectly and charges with no problem.

Excellent price for authentic Yaesu CD-41 Desk Rapid Charger
Took my chances and did receive authentic Yaesu CD-41, in original unopened factory box. Excellent price for this charger, which works with my new Yaesu FT-2DR wall plug. Will also charge in the car when using the Yaesu EB-13 DC power plug. Purchased same rapid charger 2 weeks ago, with the FT-2DR from a Nationwide Ham Radio Store for $39.00. You would have thought after buying the new spendy radio that they would have gave me a break. Although free shipping with radio, its all in the price. So I now have one for home while using the radio wall plug. And a 2nd rapid charger for mobile use. The ED-13 12V will charge the radio and allow transmit I believe. But having the fast charger cradle in the vehicle could come in handy when travelling. Will purchase a 2nd wall supply for travelling as well.

Excellent addition to the standard charger
I purchased this charger to compliment a Yaesu FT-2DR radio. While I love the radio, I found that if I am taking advantage of all the features it offers, the battery drains almost completely within a days usage. The normal charger does charge the radio but it seems like it takes over 6 hours to charge it fully. With this Desk Rapid Charger, I was able to fully charge my radio in about half the speed. The radio fit into the charger very snug and the indicator light makes it easy to see when it is charging and when it is done. I love that base is made of metal and not just all plastic like some other chargers found on the internet. This charger is made with high standards. While I do not have a spare battery, it does look like it would fit with no problems.

Relatively Expensive Accessory for the FT2DR But Apparently Well Made
I bought the charging cradle at the suggestion of a very helpful Australian Yaesu service technician to help determine if the charging failure on my new FT2DR was related to the radio or the charger. As suspected by the technician, the charger was fine and the charger charged the radio using the cradle. I'll wait another eleven months before sending the radio back for service since the defect is a relatively minor one and something else may end up failing between now and the end of the one year warranty. The Yaesu cradle is 2-3 times more expensive than Chinese cradles for the FT2DR. Still, it appears to be well made and unlike some Chinese cradles I've owned for other radios, the FT2DR fits particularly well in the Yaesu cradle. Additionally, the Yaesu cradle includes a charging (red) and charged light (green).

Good Base Charger for the FT3DR Yaesu Radio
There are several negative reviews of this product pointing out DESIGN flaws. I agree that these flaws should be corrected. Yaesu is known for high quality products. Their prices reflect this. When purchasing OEM items, at OEM Retail prices, people expect the product to be free of defects. NOTE: This charger does NOT come with the wall wart power transformer. You will also need the Yaesu SAD-25B. This charger does, however, fit my FT3DR perfectly. It is heavy and does not tip over or slide around on the desk like a disposable $12 Baofeng charger. I only charge my radio while it is off. I only charge the battery while attached to the radio. When the battery gets low, I turn my radio off and place it in the charger. The LED charge indicators are great. RED for Charging, Green for Charged. DO NOT touch the magical gold battery contacts. Even if the unit is unplugged, static discharge when touching the gold contacts can blow the internal circuitry. I already knew how sensitive this otherwise indestructible device is, so I don't touch the contacts. I leave in on the counter and set my radio in the base when it needs to be charged. It works great for me (so far).

Nothing fancy, just a good charging platform.

Works with included FT3DR slow charger or fast charge if you buy a bigger 12v wall wart
One of the many issues with Yaesu is that they nickel and dime you on accesssories. Want a fast charge? The included FT3DR charger is too week and takes overnight. Want to monitor without using your battery? Too bad, the included charger can't keep up with the radio power use. So you need a fast charger, like this. But be aware, in true Yaesu tradition, they don't actually include a wall wart for the CD-41. This craddle will use the FT3DR included weak charger, but only for slow charging. If you buy a 12v high current output wart, it will both charge radio batteries in/out of radio and provide enough power to actually power the radio for monitoring.

Well worth the cost
Based on a few reviews, I decided to hold off and just charge with the power cord. That got old real soon. I had no way of charging a second battery without it attached to the radio and no way to just stand up the radio, so it was just wobbling around on the counter. For the price of the FT-3D, it should have been included, but the cradle does as intended. Charge time is reduced, but rapid....definitely faster than with power cord alone, but with two batteries this was not an issue for me. The cradle definitely makes things more convenient and definitely secures the radio while otherwise vulnerable when charging. Being able to charge the second battery independently is a real plus.

Does the job in 5 hours or so, you can just charge the battery on its own without the radio attached
